Ted was considered for a time as an anchor. In the context of that whenever he was brought on to a show it would be canceled soon after.
@braziliantexatlantis74852 ай бұрын
Ted first appeared on Happy Days in 1980 and last in 1984. He first appeared on MWC in 1989 and last in 1997. Two hundred and twenty-eight episodes of those two shows. Fifty-nine of Love Boat. Seventy-three of Hope and Faith. So maybe you could get back on the short bus you rode in on.
@HfnfNrndАй бұрын
@braziliantexatlantis7485 how little you know. He was known as a reliable actor but always hired when a show started running out of ideas and needed a new character. He got the rep as show killer because he was never in the cast in the beginning when a show was fresh but always at the end when it was stale.

Ah, Ted... the patron saint of "Your Show Is About To Be Cancelled."
@bthere1002 ай бұрын
False. When he joined shows like Happy Days and the Love Boat they were near cancellation and if anything he helped extend their run for a few more years.
@VictorDiGiovanni2 ай бұрын
@@bthere100 False. His addition to the show always means that the show is in decline and has begun flailing around and that a major member of the cast has left the show. No one remembers any episode that McGinley is in. None of his episodes are ever considered among a show's canon "good" episodes. The fact that Rich hadn't seen any of the episodes from this season of Shrinking proves that the McGinley effect is in full force. One just instinctively loses interest in a show by knowing McGinley is on it. I think it bears investigating if McGinley was on the Simpsons in the late 90s. It would explain the show's slide into irrelevance.
@bthere1002 ай бұрын
That would be on you then son. Most of my favorite MWC episodes were during the Jefferson D'Arcy era. He was the best actor on Hope and Faith and awesome on Shrinking. Great on the Baxters. Great on stuff like Revenge of the Nerds. Happy Days was past its prime well before McGinley got there and if anything he helped extend its stay and Love Boat the same.
@prob68202 ай бұрын
He was on MWC 7 years, which was longer than David Garrison who played Steve.
