If you missed what he said at the end, “Ashely, I finally made it to the big time!…. Charlotte, sorry, Charlotte.” His daughter Ashley Flair is a famous wrestler, but she goes by the stage name Charlotte. Turned a shoot into a work

I used to work at a restaurant as a teenager in Charlotte that had a golds gym. It was a Rick Flair gym. Hell my bus stop was at the corner of his house. Every interaction I ever had with him, he was the nicest, coolest guy you could ever meet.

He lived on or around Plantation road in Mathews in the early to mid 80s. Don't know why I remember that road as it was more than 40 or so years ago but I do remember the house. @@PorkChopExpress86 And I’m sure you’re completely innocent and never did any anything bad, you have the benefit of keeping your life private, Rick does not have that benefit. It’s very hard to stay sober when you’ve lived the old wrestler lifestyle, look at just about any wrestler from late 60s to early 2000s and you’ll see that about 90% had some addiction/vices. When you continually hurt your body every week it’s natural to look for painkillers like alcohol, pills etc just to get up out of bed and feel semi normal. No one is perfect and everyone’s made mistakes, until you live his life maybe don’t speak on it. 🤷Imagine having everyone around you peer pressure you to drink & do drugs, then you get women throwing themselves at you when you’re at a young age. Average male would’ve been just like Rick if given similar opportunities.
@PorkChopExpress86 Жыл бұрын
@@Yo-6495far from perfect, but I'm better than flair any day. Don't get me wrong, he's one of my favorite wrestlers ever, maybe even my favorite. But like I said above, he's got character traits nobody should aspire to. On top of all that, he got another shot at life about 5 years ago. Almost died . What does he do??? Keeps drinking and acting the fool. Take that any way you like, call it a disease, whatever floats your boat. Bottom line, amazing entertainer, we ll leave it at that

I'm not a wrestling fan, but I met Ric Flair (with a colleague who happens to be black) at the airport in Memphis Tennessee about 20 years ago as we were waiting for flights. We were both sitting at a bar in the airport and he (Ric) bought us drinks, came over and sat next to us JUST to talk. We had about 45 minutes with the guy and it was awesome beyond words. One of the nicest, most humble, sweet (not gay), sincere humans walking this earth. I love the guy. He kept offering to buy drinks and we told him we worked in software so his drinks were on us and he relectually agreed, believe me, we had to MAKE him take that offer, but he kept offering lol😊. ANYWAY, he's just a really good dude, and TRUST me, If you have anything bad to say about Ric, it's on you NOT him. Love him.

Met Ric for drinks in a bar north of Atlanta in 2015. Wish I’d gotten him to do a voicemail greeting for me in the fashion of the promo he cut for Rich. Haha All kidding aside, good to see him alive, well, and living the good life in 2023.

What I found funny about Andre's beer drinking story was Andre drinking 'Miller Beer'. Any Old-Timers that drank beer might remember that the original Miller beer was called, 'The Champagne of Bottled Beers' and was considered to be a beer for the gals cuz it was lighter. I mean some men would drink it but usually not as their preferred beer. They weren't one of the top beers yet (at least that's how I remember it) and I'm thinking it could have been a great promo. Getting Ric Flair + Andre The Giant to do a TV ad for Miller Beer. 'You don't have to drink 110 Millers to love Miller Beer. Drink Miller because Andre + Ric say so!'

1982 or 1983 in Saint Louis King Kong Brody was standing over a bloodied Champion Ric Flair, sprawled on his back after a near hour-long back and forth battle. As Brody stood there thinking of what to do next, he lost track of time, the bell rang ending the 60-minute time limit match. Within a few years Nature Boy would replace my favorite wrestler Brody. I remember the Top 10 List Why to Reinstate Ric Flair (after being banned) #1... WHOOOO! I also liked "Time to go to school!" just before applying figure four leg lock. Saint Louis loves you, Ric!
