Purdy's draft position vs Lance's is the only reason this is even being discussed. IMO, if Purdy's healthy and the Niners actually want to win anything, he's the starter, period.

He's being nice and complimentary about Trey Lance but he has never looked impressive in pre season or the games he has started. In the other hand Brock Purdy has been impressive until his injury, I say Brock is the starting QB and Trey the back up, Brock's 4 year's of college football experience is apparent to why he's playing the way he was. It's just Brock had consistency and Trey Lance did not.

If only Shanahan cared about his qbs as much as Sirianni, then he would have provided the required protection to avoid getting 4 of them injured, 3 w/ season ending injuries, whereas our 1st class defense had trouble even getting to Hurts, w/ only Bosa getting that one sack (granted almost a safety!) that Sirianni provided Hurts.
