About Ocon.. he gets a bad reputation for being a bad teammate, but I can see why he is like that. He won F3 in 2014, but it was Verstappen who finished third who got the seat. Not saying Ocon deserved it more, but he must’ve been frustrated by the lack of opportunities. He also got kicked out of Force India to make room for Stroll, as he beat Perez in both head to heads but was behind in the standings. Perez was quite hard racing Ocon, and I think Perez caused the majority of the incidents between them. Ocon doesn’t want to lose his seat in those kinds of circumstances, so he would rather be the perpetrator than the victim.

I’m not a Stroll fan. But nobody wins F3 with money alone. He’s fast, and we can argue whether he’s F1 material or not. There were much worse drivers in the roster. Money has always been key in F1. Before the drivers’ academies were developed, you can count a handful of “working class” drivers that made it to the top.

You can also make an argument that he had access to far more resources in order to make him “fast” and that, given those resources, other drivers would be (and are) far “faster” (whatever that may mean). I will never disparage his driving, but I will also never believe he deserves a seat in F1 above people who are clearly more talented but don’t have the connections and access to resources and people that he does. It’s just such a shame that such an exciting and groundbreaking sport is so nepotistic.

His parents sold their family home in order to continue his teenage racing career. he raced in British f4 off this money but no sponsors came from it. I envy those that poor but still able to reach F1 thanks to their parents. Go broke just to keep the dreams of their kids alive. They really make me resent my father even more. I had to give up my ambition to become a racer even before I even had a chance to touch a go kart, because my father is too lazy to work. A sloth with audacity to verbally trash the ambition of his son, while everyday is too busy criticising government's economic policy and acting like a social justice warrior. i wonder what would happen if my parents had the money to fuind me. I actually at age of 8 outperformed on rent gokarts a lot of people who were training professionally, and were like 15-20 years old. And got 8th place out of 340 people in a redbull event for gokarting, when i hadnt driven gokarts for like 10 years. at like age 22.
