+madgoldnz Boy, do you know the first reason why The Beatles stopped touring altogether? Because their audience stopped and listened. People that make noise don't belong in a MUSIC concert because they don't listen and they don't let others listen, when people are trying to LISTEN to music it is a disruption and a disrespect to the music, the musicians and the audience. If you want to get drunk and act foolishly that's fine but don't do it to the expense of others, choose the right time and let the others listen. This particular girl is just interested in hitting on Ritchie Kotzen and as the frequent girl,(no offense to all the amazing musicians out there, there are many) doesn't really care about music per music's sake.

If I just got done rippin a killer drum solo at the jam night and the crowd goes bonkers, that's cool as well. If I'm sitting near the front of the theater watching anything goes, I'm not going to shout out the dialogue while the actors are performing. That's just plain rude.

Richie played on Guthrie's album, he had been doing what Guthrie been doing on the guitar since Arthur's Museum, his solo album, works with Greg Howe and Vertu. Richie evolve vocally from being a shrapnel shredder to a soulful blues singer, hence some of his album with Mr. Big he sings the song instead of Eric Martin.

Whike he is a monster guitarist, multi instrumentalist and singer he is not even in the same realm of guthrie when it comes to guitar vocabulary and improvisational skills. And you obviously dont know what jazz is. Fusion can be anything from rock heavy music mixed with jazz aspects to jazz heavy music mixed with rock aspects. And again, kotzen has no bebop jazz chops, his technique is inferior to guthries and he is nowhere as versatile as him.

His fusion is more like an cliche 80s shred type of fusion rather than incorporating real jazz... Also his melodic phrasing inferior to guthries. More like 80s shred fusion... Similar thing with greg howe although howe is more listenable than kotzen and more melodic..also never heard Kotzen play a really good solo as a guest guitarist. His vibrato is too aggressive and one dimentional. Now type in "guthrie govan spain balawan". Now show me a video or audio of kotzen playing real jazz to "spain". He cant..
