Richie, you're still one of the best lyricists out there, but I gotta say I'm a little concerned that the flow's starting to feel a bit same-y. Back during the original Otaku Tuesdays it felt like every song had its own character, it's own rhythm and structure and pace; now I'm not so sure. I know the tastes and times change, but I'd hate to see your talents get funneled into all these same new-south/trap/mumble flows that are popular, only because I know you have more variety than that in you. Big ups to you man - I'll still be here every week for whatever you're making.

There’s definitely been a consistent vibe over the past few weeks, and I suppose it’s because I’ve been drawing inspiration for a much different source than previous times in my musical journey. With that said, I’m definitely down to try making more music inspired by something different than what I’ve been consumed by. Tell me what you’d like to influence my next song and I’ll give it a shot!

​@@RichieBranson Thanks so much for your reply and for being welcoming of criticism, but I'm not much of a musician, and I wouldn't want to point you at a particular style or artist to emulate just to sate my personal preferences. From a technical standpoint tho, even though I really enjoy the beats and general composition of the last three, they all come in at a really similar tempo and with the syllabic emphasis pretty firmly on the one and three, which I think might just make it easy to just lean in on that straight-on-the-beat delivery. I think what made some of the other OT's so variable and unique was the variety in the samples you used, often seemingly diametrically opposed, where you took something orchestral or classical or otherwise unusual, and chopped it up or added a simple snare-tom-hat beat behind it that really opened up the kind of phrasing you could use. Even just throwing a quarter rest or two in your phrasing to mix it up and add some syncopation might help adjust the way your line lands on the ear and how you write your next one. One of my favorite things you do that I rarely see others even try is just to let your lines flow across multiple measures, and close or transition when the thought does, rather than where the bar line demands it. Your words are powerful and they don't have to follow the music and the beat - they can lead it too.
