Split screen has been available since Android 7, I believe. My old LG G3 and G6 actually had split screen buttons on either the navigation bar or the app switcher screen. My current phone (a Unihertz Titan running Android 10) handles split screen the same way you show in the video. The G6 could perfectly fit two 1:1 aspect tiles on its 2:1 aspect screen, while my current phone has a 1:1 aspect screen, which can perfectly fit two 2:1 aspect tiles...a complete reversal, LOL.
