Nope. I'm sure it's what this particular club decided was right for their membership. But nope ... just wrong. I get having at least one artificial green in the PNW. But to have the entire club played on artificial turf? A crime against the game. Play indoors if you want perfectly smooth, relatively maintenance free bowling. I suppose these members curl on quartzite sheets too? I wonder what the annual maintenance costs are like, long term, compared to traditional greens. Artificial turf isn't cheap - and it's hardly maintenance free - and it doesn't last forever (and looks exceptionally ratty when it nears the end of it's life, which as I understand it is about 8 years in an environment like the PNW (much shorter in the extreme sun of Arizona, Nevada, or southern California).
