I was at Woodstock 99. I was 31 years old and went with some friends I had been in the Marines with. When Limp Bizkit came on stage, chaos erupted. Scaffolding was getting torn down, big sheets of wood, paneling, naked, women, and men. when break stuff came on, we were all in another universe. Elbows, swinging, tits everywhere, I was bloodied and loved every minute of it. It was the most insane show I have ever been to. I had so much adrenaline going. I can’t even remember half of what happened. Absolutely one of the best week ever.

I was 15 in 1999, I will never forget how much my angsty self loved Limp Bizkit, Korn, Staind, Slipknot, Rage Against the Machine and System of a Down. I have a happy family, plenty of money, a nice house and I'm happier than I've ever been in life right now... but the 90's was truly the last great era.

That festival captured the how the Youth was feeling in that moment just like Woodstock 94 and 69. It was a moment in time. It was a success!

I was at Woodstock 99 and during Limp Bizkit performance I was standing under the camera boom next to the guy with the Mexican flag. It was insane. A lot of people got seriously injured during this song. It was unbelievably hot that day

I watched that documentary on Netflix with my best friend and he didn’t get why people were hating on ‘N sync and the Backstreet Boys, but I certainly did. People were tired of that music being shoved down our throats by MTV and we had enough. I never liked their music and I was a teenager in 1999. We all resented the popularity of the boy band craze. It reminded me of a Chicago White Sox promotion they did at Comiskey Park in 1979. It was called Disco Demolition Night, a promotion organized by the White Sox and a dedicated rock radio station in Chicago. People got into the ballpark for less than $1 if they brought a Disco album. They put the records in a box in center field and blew it up, and then the fans rushed the field and started vandalizing the field and the Sox had to forfeit. The next day Disco was declared dead.

I was there! The most interesting thing i can add to this is that Lucifer was also there… He made his presence known to us while we were huddling in an abandoned Pizza Hut stand coming up with a game plan to get to the exit. About 30 yards out and about 10 feet in front of a horde of people circling a huge bonfire chanting. Stood a man staring directly at us motionless with a big smile and very dark eyes (dead ringer for the character in “The Man Who Laughs” silent film”). Without speaking me and my buddy got a very strong impression in our minds that he was very pleased with the chaos unfolding and that he was amused in a way that we were not under his spell so to speak. Something that stood out to both of us was that it seemed him and the horde could not come any closer to us i think we were being protected. So he just stood there, we took off in the opposite direction back towards the campgrounds and did a big loop to the exit. Also The Red Hot Chili Peppers knew what was going to happen when they played “Fire” by Hendrix. We were in the front row right in front of Kiedis and right before they played the song Flea asked “Are you sure you want to do this” and Kiedis replied “Yea fuck it”. Some type of ritual was performed that night that drove the crowd to madness. It was a pretty epic weekend lol!

that docu hit the nail on the head. at first everyone was getting on limps ass blaming them for the riot but the doc cleared the story up. the people who put that festival on half assed were teh ones to blame, you cant blame limp for going on and doing what they were brought on to do, which was fucking kill it, which they did.

TBF it wasn't the 250k that was live, but it was the MILLIONS afterwards that had that connection. Even Puff Daddy & Kid Rock can be seen on that stage in the background, nothing was ever said from either of them towards on how to be front stage or center unless you're in your "hood"

I was there and it was the best weekend of my life for real! I was turning 21 on the 30th that July and man it was a great time! You have no idea how huge 300k people is until every direction you look is nothing but heads.. kinda scary if you are claustrophobic lol it was madness from the start! We got up out of there when they started rioting tho, you could just feel it getting out of control.. that's a lot of people drunk and high with no rules for 3 days..

never imagined I would have a fuckin Limp Bizkit story but here it goes 🤣 this past week a random recommendation popped up on my feed, Limp Bizkit live Lollapalooza live 2022... I think "WTF this looks at least intriguing" Without knowing a single fuckin thing about Limp Bizkit at all (besides my own preconceived notions of them) what I find is this white haired dude (wig?) with daddy clothes DOMINATING the crowd like nothing I ever saw from any other Country Musical Group 🤣🤣🤣I like the way these new kids play Country Music, they gonna be real big

They got a lot of shit because the crowd was already agitated and Bizkit egged them on. Those boards you see are from stuff the crowd broke. So the '99 version was not the peace festival that the original Woodstock was...

You do understand that you are looking at the entire millennial generation, in the past. We had the same fervor for Eminem too. Still have that loyalty for Eminem, on my part. Always. But this is the epitome of our anger. were angry because of our, first of all horrific situation. They were in, in that festival. On top of deep-seeded resentment. Limp Bizkit did not start that riot. It started because of the creators of the festival. Anyone who was there, me, and anyone who was a fan of the bands there, didn’t blame the bands ever. Give us shit to break.
