Here's another D'Angelico Premier SS review, except this time we have set it up to play jazz! In this video, we take a close look at the Premier SS to see if it can get a great jazz tone. We think the D'Angelico Premier SS tone is very suitable for jazz, but it's versatility also allows you to play blues, pop, or rock. We think that D'Angelico Premier SS guitar is a great option at the relatively low price point of around $900!
🎸 Key Features:

You never fail to amaze me. You effectively and expertly deliver the niceties of every guitar that is handed to you. Your tune selections demonstrates and proves your abilities to emulate the Masters and we must recognise that you are up there amongst the best. Thank you.

I agree a nicely crafted Benedetto style trapeze tailpiece should be an option. Jazz guys would probably appreciate it and it would make it easy for Bigsby nuts like me to add one.

You can mount the strings reverse-and-over the tailpiece stop (like J. Page and other 70's LP players) and this will relieve most of the tightness you report due to increased string guage with the close distance between bridge and tail-stop. scratching of the tailpiece stop is inevitable, however....hope this helps.

Hey! New D Angelico jazzboxes out. Exl 1 model B - With DeArmond Rhythm Chief 1000 (1.7k) Elx 1 model- With Seymour Duncan 59 HB or Floating PU. (1.9k) The Rhythm Chief was worth a comparison to a Guild. - More or less equal price and pickup.

It looks and sounds great! sounds better than 335 to me-of course you are the artist! I have a Comins GCS-1-similar-he has them made in Korea-impeccable fit an finish-but same poly finish-both affordable guitars that one could afford to lose-as contrasted to an old Johnny Smith or your beautiful red L5

Sorry been absent too long. Just let work take over too much. You sound great. Few if any can do George well. What are you playing thru? Beautiful tone. Thanks. Shally

Nice sound. Did you use the neck PU only? I like the size, scale. You said it isn't as heavy as a LP. It would be nice if you had scale. Weight is a biggy for a lot of players. Am not a fan of 14 radius or even 12. Always enjoy your reviews.

Thank you guys for doing the review. Great playing. And the guitar sounds great. Thick flats make a difference. For a comparison check a model with jazz tailpiece and make sure there are 0.047 pots in. One question. I also like flamenco and want to learn the style. Would you recommend using a flamenco guitar for jazz too, or better buying a traditional acoustic? I never played acoustic but I watched the "Great Guitars" and liked the acoustic sound as counterpart.
