Thought this might be a very difficult stitch for me but doesn't appear that it will be. And it looks so super squishy!!! Thanks Sarah!

Oh I love that yarn!!! I started working on it last year- put it aside to work on something else. Feels so good to work with-like cool soft grass!!!!

I love your blanket. I made a cardigan with this yarn and it turned out very nice but sad to say my siamese cat and my pug dog also loved it lol. Whenever I wear the cardigan they want to get in my arms and they put some major picks in my sweater. I would love to make this blanket but I would have to hide it lol.but I think my granddaughter would love it so I can make it for her. Thank you for sharing

Hello, I'd like to do the same with 2 shades of gray and white yarn, to look like a checkerboard. Could you please tell me how and where you attached your 3 colors of yarn? Did you start the different colors right after the foundation chain? Thanks for any help you can give.

I just found this very excellent tutorial. How would I go about making a checkerboard-look afghan, with dark & light gray and white velvet yarn? Can you share some advice on how and where to attach the different colors? Thank you.

Very pretty throw. I've worked with the velvet yarns. I've found that every once in a while, I get a sloppy stitch with a loop of yarn that sticks out. Did you have that problem? It happened with both my knit project and my crochet project. After I noticed a sloppy stitch, I was very careful to keep my tensions consistent, but still I would have an occasional loose/loopy/sloppy stitch. I'm just wondering if that happens to everyone or just me????
@janafarmer99223 жыл бұрын
Everyone....lol
@RichTexturesCrochet3 жыл бұрын
It does happen! I found that I had to be careful with the tension. I also found that a wooden crochet hook helped. I think because with the wood there is more resistance, it helped to pull it through

@@RichTexturesCrochet Thank you for the tip. As I remember, I wasn't using wooden hooks or needles.

You are wonderful in your videos! I really enjoy watching and listening. One question….when you start, you say go into the second chain, but it looks like you go into the third. So I started in the third, and the count came out right. Just curious. ***also, how do you get the yarn, not to worm? If I don’t go down in hook size, AND use tension….it’s a nightmare! And I love the velvet yarn, so I use it a lot! Please comment :)

Hi there!! It is really a nice design but u had a problem in my foundation row .. as I started the second row the foundation row is streching little... Why so ??
@marcialedesma7923 жыл бұрын
The first 3 chains don't count for doble crochet?
@delladearest25113 жыл бұрын
At the beginning row she did say it counts

I’m wondering if you have problems with the yarn “pulling loops.” I made an afghan with this yarn last summer, and it has LOTS of places where the stitches have pulled out loops. It’s not unraveling - it just pulls up “slack” into loops.
@janafarmer99223 жыл бұрын
I have that problem with the velvet yarn no matter how carefully I am
@donna9703 жыл бұрын
I have the same problem. I tried going down a hook size and it helped but it still happens occasionally. I'm so sorry I wasted my money on this yarn.
@janafarmer99223 жыл бұрын
Its really hard to work with but it's pretty if you can get it to work righr
@Sakrysta3 жыл бұрын
I decided after I finished the blanket that if I used the yarn again, it would have to be a dense, tight stitch so there would be less chance of pulling. The blanket was for my bed, so I decided not to worry about the loops & just enjoy the fuzzy softness, but I would definitely make different choices if I were to do it again.

Do you all really handwash blankets? I can see it'd be easy on a small lap blanket but if you made a full size blanket hand washing and getting all the soap out, etc., seems it would be an awful task. :(
