Richtfest "Kleines holländisches Viertel" in Potsdam

Das sogenannte „kleine holländische Viertel“ in Potsdam entstand 1750/51 nach Plänen der Baumeister v. Knobelsdorff und Boumann. Auftraggeber war Friedrich II. Im Jahre 1988 wurden die drei 240 Jahre alten Häuser abgerissen. Für einen Hubschrauberlandeplatz des damaligen Bezirkskrankenhauses!
Heute entstehen hier 32 Ein- bis Drei-Zimmer-Wohnungen mit Größen von 40 bis 90 m². Investiert werden von der „Potsdamer Wohnungsbaugesellschaft PWG 1956“ ca. 6,5 Millionen Euro. Am 01. August 2014 war das Richtfest.

So...these were demolished to make way for a hospital in 1988 and have since been rebuilt? My broken German comprehension is suggesting this. Am I correct or not?

The buildings were demolished in the GDR because of their poor condition and since the political change in 1989, people have been pushing for a return to the hitortic architecture of this city, which is why these houses have been reconstructed. Currently, the historic city centre is also being rebuilt historically.
