I just found you. You have no idea how much I love you right now. No. Idea. THANK YOU!!!

A big or a small triangle should will the same value - but a bigger one is easier to measure.

At 4:41, you say the pink line is when there is 0.5 M H2SO4. Then at 5:32, you say the orange line is 0.5 M H2SO4. Why does dividing the molarity by 2 result in different graphs? Thanks!

2.5 is the staring time used with the tangent on the curve

Well spotted, I should have done final minus initial to get the negative number - I will fix it now.

Hi - I got a bit confusd around 4:45...you show the pink line to demonstrate what happens if you change the concentration of the sulfuric acid (i.e. 0.5M is the pink line), but then you draw the orange line and say that that represents the graph for a lower concentration of sulfuric acid...so which one is it? Or am I completely missing something here...?

where did the 2.5 come from?

i think there is some mistake with the last problem, it should be rate at 0.2 (M). it is mentioned rate at t=20s

afzal patni the tangent touches at t=20s. where the tangent touches is where the reading is made.

Hey Richard! Your videos are awesome, I have just one question! I did not understand very well how do you get the rate of the reaction using the graph?
@ibchemvids9 жыл бұрын
+Armando Cuadros Rate =change of [reactants]/ change in time so the slope of the [reactants] vs time graph gives you the rate. You will need to draw a tangent to the slope at the time needed.

Hey sir, 6:39 here I couldn't understand why we got 25 for time and the mass is between 0.6-0.2. Because the question says t = 20. So I thought we would get t: 20 and the mass would be between 0.6-0.0. I'm confused, can you explain? Thanks.

Ok - so i drew a tangent line at 20s, but now have to measure the gradient. To measure the gradient I made the tangent line into a right angled triangle - allowing me to measure the "rise-over-run". This triangle can be any size - the gradient should be the same, but bigger is better - so as to get more accurate measurements.

Couldn't you just calculate 20/0.4 ? Because it's instantaneous rate?

I'm confused about the negative sign that results from finding the gradient on this type of curve.. You specifically switched final and initial in your calc and I was wondering if there is a reason for that?

hello! i am a bit confused. why is it 0.2-0.6/25-2.5 and not 0.6-0.2/25-2.5 ? Thanks :) your videos are very helpful !
@ibchemvids10 жыл бұрын
the rate must be negative since it is slowing down

at 0:50, the graph looks a lot like a radioactive decay %mother-nucleei and %daughter nuclei graph
