One of my fav episodes. “You know what they do to other prisoners in time prison. Same thing they do in normal prison. Only forever.”😂
@DextroDNAOfficial7 жыл бұрын
Popular theory is that the baby Morty from Rick's memories was his original Morty that he lost somehow; Rick isn't from the same dimension as his current Morty, and in this Morty's original dimension (the one that got Cronenberged) he had been gone for 20 years (perhaps the original Rick from this dimension died). Some people speculate that our Rick's original Morty was actually Evil Morty, and that something bad happened between them, which would explain why Evil Morty was trying to frame Rick for all the murders. But what we learned in this episode is that despite how he treats Morty (like shit), Rick genuinely loves him and would sacrifice himself for him. The weird love/hate relationship between Rick and Morty is one of my favourite things about my show and was explored pretty well at the end of one of the recent season 3 episodes. That's just our Rick though, there are plenty of Rick and Morty's that don't have that kind of relationship. But then, it's only our Rick and Morty that count as they are, as Rick puts it, "the Rick-est Rick and the Morty-est Morty" - Rick and Morty Prime.

DextroDNA this is exactly what I was thinking, but remember Rick hates that part of himself. He hates his irrational connection to Morty. It holds him waaay back, although arguably not enough considering the kinds of things Morty deals with on a regular basis
@DextroDNAOfficial7 жыл бұрын
He doesn't necessarily hate that part of himself, he just finds it toxic, which it is. It's unhealthy for both of them and they both know it, but it doesn't stop them for carrying on as they are.

The Morty left behind in the intro to the two green aliens could be evil Morty. Other parts of the intro was put into episodes so far so that one might be enlarged in a future episode on how he survived that encounter.
@guthax305 жыл бұрын
DextroDNA the "ricklantis mixup" teaches us though that EVERY Rick and Morty thinks they're the Rickest Rick and the Mortyest Morty. And we also learn the narcissism inherent in ALL Rick and Morty's is going to be the thing that ends up destroying their society and way of life.

Fun fact: The Rick and Morty we saw at the start of the first episode are probably dead. They arent the ones we usually follow. In fact, any of the episodes could be with different Ricks and Mortys. Its just a few episodes we can trace a continuation to determine they are the same ones hehe

@@philipdaviddavies9478 theres a couple theories on that with the neutrino bomb (thats what you’re talking about right?) one is that the bomb was defective. another was that it was a different universe than the main C-137. another is that Morty learned or accidentally figured out how to disarm the neutrino bomb and thats why he knows how to do it in the Vindicatios episode. That also leads into different theories of how morty is smarter than hes letting on and maybe thats how one of the Mortys became Evil Morty. You can go down a huge rabbit hole with this stuff

Just a heads up guys, Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon have emphatically stated that they do not intend to ever introduce time travel as a possibility in the canon of the show; as they feel that it would be their "jump the shark" moment. With regards to the memory that Rick has of playing with Morty as a toddler when he had supposedly been out of Beth's life for 20-some years, most people seem to think that the Morty in Rick's memory was a different one from our Morty in the show. Just because he wasn't in the lives of Beth and Morty from the show for 20 years doesn't mean that he wasn't in another Beth and Morty's lives.
@fakecubed2 жыл бұрын
Star Trek: The Next Generation had an explicit directive not to ever do time travel. As a result, they had some of the most creative, interesting time travel episodes of any series. Eventually they loosened up and we got things like Mark Twain in a two-parter. But before that, the writers wrote great episodes like Yesterday's Enterprise, A Matter of Time, and Cause and Effect, which skirted around the rule just well enough to get made.

"Natural Causes" as defined on the Internet: In simple terms, natural causes refer to internal factors - like a medical condition or a disease - as opposed to external factors, like trauma from an accident. In other words, natural causes could be anything from cancer to heart disease to diabetes.

In the closing clip after the credits, the time cops are moving through different time periods of the earth, then they meet up for a bit. A small mammal like creature enters their bubble, and is carried to another time period with the cops. It moves along the bubble as they move, but then exits the bubble into an unknown time (maybe the sea clip). If the cops are moving haphazardly through time and not linearly, the mammal could be put back into time and thus be the origins of mammals on an ancient earth.

"If my heart gave out right now it wouldn't be natural". It absolutely would. Age has nothing to do with whether a death is deemed natural or not. If an old person dies of a heart attack and it is classed as natural causes, then it will be the exact same for someone younger because the cause of death is the same. By the way, how did they end up discussing what is classed as natural and unnatural death after watching a Rick and Morty episode?

Even if someone age 20 has some sort of organ failure, it's a matter of weather or not it was caused by some sort of external force or if its just in the persons genetics. A heart attack is considered to be a "Natural Cause", regardless of your age. They will also record what the person died of specifically (heart attack, kidney failure, cancer, etc), but they consider it a natural cause. If you die in a car wreck, a gun shot, explosion, knife wound, overdose, etc., then those would not be natural causes. There are plenty of people who eat healthy and get a healthy amount of exercise that drop dead at relatively early ages from a stroke or heart attack. It's not as if the coroner investigates whether or not you ate a lot of greasy, unhealthy shit before they can determine that you died of natural causes.

A death by natural causes, as recorded by coroners and on death certificates and associated documents, is one that is primarily attributed to an illness or an internal malfunction of the body not directly influenced by external forces. Contrary to the statement before, everything is natural at some point. For example, a person dying from complications from influenza (an infection) or a heart attack (an internal body malfunction) or sudden heart failure would be listed as having died from natural causes. Health departments discourage listing old age as the cause of death because doing so does not benefit public health or medical research.[1] Old age is not a scientifically recognized cause of death; there is always a more direct cause,[citation needed] although it may be unknown in certain cases and could be one of a number of aging-associated diseases. By contrast, death caused by active intervention is called unnatural death. The "unnatural" causes are usually given as accident (implying no unreasonable voluntary risk), misadventure (accident following a willful and dangerous risk, which can include drug or alcohol overdose), suicide, or homicide.[2] In some settings, other categories may be added. For example, a prison may track the deaths of inmates caused by acute intoxication separately.[3] Additionally, a cause of death can be recorded as "undetermined"

Why didn't the editor cut the whole debate at the end? It was frustrating and had nothing to do with the episode.
