This is the big problem with sitcoms, both live action and animated. THEY SHOULDN'T GO ON PAST A FEW SEASONS! EVERY sitcom makes the same mistake! You start off with a cool and original idea, fun characters, and the series goes really strong for several seasons, so both the studio and the creative team delude themselves into thinking the concept has enough legs to go on for decades. But the problem is, the show starts orbiting around the same small gaggle of characters for the whole run. The main cast plus a few key supporting characters start becoming the focus of EVERYTHING going on, and the writers start running out of ideas for interesting stuff for them to do, so they just start throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks and keep turning their wheels until they just get cancelled. This isn't how television is supposed to operate. A good series should last 3-5 seasons tops, with very rare exceptions in the case of long-form drama/fantasy series or anime.
