One thing. The Rick’s can’t just leave the citadel once they live there. Portal guns are illegal for the most part, and it appears some experiments are frowned upon. That’s why so many Rick’s are working menial jobs despite being geniuses. Morty isn’t trying to sell to his oppressors during his speech, he’s simply pointing out a flaw in capitalism.

Loved this reaction!!! Love how amazed and shocked you all were! I felt the same way the first time I saw this ep. Btw, the B story, with the 4 Morty's going on that journey? It was a reference to a movie made in 1986 Stand By Me. It's based on a Steven King novel about four 13 year old boys who decide to go on a life changing journey to look for a missing/supposed dead person. It's a really good movie! It's on Netflix, you guys should do a reaction to it!

I find it amusing that, at this point in the series, people still think the titles are going to relate to the content of the episode. The episode description mentioning "self-contained" is misdirection and pretty much refers to the episode we didn't see when they went to Altantis. The episode we did see is very much not self-contained, it relies heavily on knowledge of previous episodes. A self-contained episode is one which requires no prior knowledge and has no lasting effects, everything that happens is contained within the episode.

a fantastic episode ... I think that I wouldn't mind seeing you three in shock after the episode for an extended twenty minutes just sitting there because that is really the point of this which is to share the experiences watching a shocking yet well crafted episode like this one, oh wait two in shock and one giddy with excitement. I remember watching this the first time and the Simple Rick sequence really did a number on me about its commentary on the consumerism society and to think what might really be behind the product that we consume ourselves, our favorite things that we don't even question. It's worth a pause to think about why it makes us feel uneasy because it could be a glimpse of our own reality. I didn't even know why at the time why it feels so wrong. "All of that happened... It felt like a movie." "No, it felt like real life." This week on Rick & Morty everyone...

This episode mirrors the reality of these girls, you have the high powered Ricks constantly trying to push their own agenda, the Mortys who just know their place and have no choice but to accept it. We need a real life Evil Morty that reminds everyone we are all the same and there is no division amongst us unless you keep creating one. This show is great.

Great reactions to this episode.The journey to the wishing well is a reference to the movie,'Stand By Me'. The corrupt Morty strikes me as a GTA reference. My own personal theory in this episode is:That Rick C-137 was the Rick at the bar giving his info to Morty.Because Evil Morty sounds like a main antagonist of Rick C-137 to me. Because he is his original Morty,from a reality where he managed to kill Jerry and ditched Evil Morty by using a clone of himself hence the remote controlled Rick.Two things are Rick C-137's main antagonist Authority,and Evil Morty.
