Go and watch one of his "what makes this song great" videos and you will see him glow as he's breaking down each nuance. Really infectious personality. I love the EVH brown sound. I got the MXR EVH 5150 OD pedal not long ago. It delivers a convincing EVH tone. Awesome video Marty and Rick!

If you have a mid-pushing overdrive, I highly suggest it in front of the pedal. You'll get an even closer sound. I actually got an Eq pedal, pushed the mids, and liked it better. Output 1-1:30, bass 10:30, mids and treble at 2~, and distortion at 12 gets you freakin close imo

It's interesting that the discussion of the sound never moved to the cabinet. Is the feeling that a great amp will sound great on any viable cabinet. I would think Marshall v Orange v H&K, etc would impact the intended sound. Let me know if I'm overthinking the cabinet/speakers. Cool video!
