I really appreciate that Chuck took the time to wash the caliper to clean off the brake fluid. I'm sure a lot of lesser mechanics would not have completed that step but it just goes to show the level of care he takes in servicing this car. And all I'm saying Rick, all I'm suggesting, (wink wink) is that a 2023 Z06 would make great content on the track too....

Hi Rick, Great session today on changing the brake fluid. I wish that I would have been able to see the procedure before I tried to install the hi-temp fluid in my car. That’s all I knew is that you had to disconnect the battery. Well, I did it wrong and got air locked up in the system. The car went into limp mode and had to take it to dealer. Three days and $1400 later the car was back to normal. I have been in the auto repair business and restored and showed many corvette’s. The C8 is a totally different animal and not to be messed with by the uniformed. Great job with your channel! Tony Sofia

Rick - a wise choice to move to a track capable car. Sounds like you are going with an Anniversary model. After seeing your ALL YOU CAN SEE IS RED video...I would suggest that you consider a Torch Red on Red Dipped with a high wing for better traction on the track. Thank you for sharing another informative video !

Hey Rick, this would be a great reminder for C8 Stingray's track preparation. Yes, flushing brake fluids with a high temp one is one of those listed on their track preparation guide. Keep up the great work!

when you order the new car please "go big or stay at home". when I ordered my 2023 z51 I got every Bell and whistle I could get, for 2 reasons. I wanted it for my enjoyment and possibly in the unlikely event of resale, thinking of the next owner.

Great video. You really have me reconsidering painting my calipers. How does a guy remove the calibers in his garage send them away to get painted bring them back and put on the car without utilizing the whole computer process? Can’t really drive it to the dealership without breaks! I’m gonna have to think this one through! Thanks again great video

Wow, and congrats Rick! That's one reason I got the performance package on my Mustang GT as I wanted to track it at least once or twice a year. So far I've been about 4 times, and I can't wait to go again! Just having that extra capability if you plan on tracking the car makes the upgrade worth it. And Ryan will appreciate it too!

Great vid and info as usual. Though that beautiful C7 Collectors Edition was very distracting. That is the very reason why I'm finding it so hard to get rid of mine for a C8. What do you do when you love the C7 more than the C8 but you want a new Vette? Thanks GM. Can't believe you're getting rid of that perfect color combo. As much as you love it I guess you won't dup it. I'm guessing you might go for the new red dipped interior. Meaning no more Rapid blue, maybe Matrix Gray.

Rick/Chuck, good videos appreciate all your content. My question is do I need to fill up the gas tank before I winterize? I already winterized my '22 C8 and left it at 105 until empty. I was reading the gas tank is sealed and fill up not required. I use Shell 93 octane and i did not add any winter gas treatment. Please advise. Thank you.

Re: your brakes - now that the pads are glazed did you also check the DISC's for cracks , etc because you "baked" your pads and exceeded operation temp of the brakes.

Re: track Prep: can you please give an EST $$ Cost (at the dealer) for the following Items: 1. Change brake fluid to High Temp $$ and Procedure. 2. Add 2 Quarts of DC Fluid (which by 2024 Owners manual is no longer needed) - also do you suggest still adding the 2 quarts. 3. maybeNo plan on changing alignment (since this will only be occassional, maybe 2-3 times a year).

Wow! A trade??? Sorta knew you would be hooked on tire squeal! Same happened to me when I bought my used ‘81 4 speed back in ‘90. I think you shud go Elkhart Lake Blue-closest color to your office paint!! Never look back!!

Carbotech street and track pads are worth it. Also remember that race brake fluid needs changed out more. I usually flush it with new after every track session.

Chuck's not joking about the oil splatter when you pull the drain plug. I just changed my oil and filter for the first time, had the car on race ramps and had oil splatter everywhere...lol. Great tech Tuesday! Not sure about exterior color Rick but bet you go dipped adrenaline red interior.

I ordered a non Z51 and upgraded the shocks and springs with Z51 gear for around $700. Bought some Z51 tires. I'm good...went to Ron Fellows and I'll never be good enough to warrant the full monty.
