The philosophical, deep speech at the end was brilliant but I doubt many will actually give it the attention it really needs.

Please, giving breath to doubts creates space for pain. Our breaths are numbered. I want for you, a feeling of less doubts.

As always Hotten Sensei exposes the positive that comes from karate and encourages the karateka by planting the seed, in order to encourage growth, thus allowing the karateka to find a new “way” or path for self improvement. Finding your own way is one of our greatest attributes as karatekas. Great lesson!

Question. Speaking specifically about your ability to organize your pressure and power from your stance control, how much of that did you learn from your teachers and how much did you figure out on your own? I rarely see, especially in karate practitioners, the ability to bring the power up from the ground through the hips dropping and wiping that power into your upper body while STAYING RELAXED. Most practitioners never move beyond creating that solid foundation of solidifying the hips first and then controlling the power from a completely solid base. Your concept of dropping power and transferring the motion through your body like a whip is not common in karate. This is only a guess but I think you have put the pieces together yourself instead of directly gathering this from one teacher.

Yes, It is a matter of listening to your body. I think in the end that is the true epiphany - "to pay attention".
