I kinda blamed the Devils' new play by play guy Bill Spaulding for his death since New Jersey was so hot that they exposed Levi and eliminated Buffalo from contention.

This is a man that is so beloved by every Sabres fan and his favor stretches to even rival teams. Rick, if you every sit down and read these comments, I hope you see just how many love you and your announcing! I truly hope that we make it all the way this season so that we can all hear you call that Cup winning goal, because it just wouldn't be right without your voice! We

It will be a very sad day when RJ retires from calling Sabres games. The past few years he only calls home games as he does not want to travel anymore. The man is getting old and has a family so you can hardly blame him. We love him so much here. *He is loved as much as any player who put on a Sabre jersey*. How many play by play guys can say that? We have been so spoiled in western NY getting to hear Rick call all the games. During playoffs my father, brother, and I listen to the big time network announcers and are always astounded at how much they suck in comparison. When the Sabres are in the playoffs we turn down the TV and listen to Rick on the radio. What a legend, not only of Buffalo but of hockey itself.
@gregoir8 жыл бұрын
heck yeah bro! used to do the radio thing (walkman lol ) @ the games also ! great comment, totally agree!

Man, if anything, Buffalo needs to win a cup for Rick. There will never be a better announcer in sports history, let alone even Hockey history.
@PhilMante6 жыл бұрын
The thing about Rick is that he always seemed to have fun. He wasn't all about that deep radio announcer voice but he didn't need it. He had his "Top shelf where momma hides the cookies!" and that's what makes it so good. Rick is having fun on commentary. and we are having fun listening to him do so.

I like how they had two goalies named Snow and shields because they play on ice which is frozen snow and shields is a perfect name for a goalie because that’s what they are a human shield.

I'm a hockey fan from Finland and also a ex-player. This is the best commentator I've ever heard. He's a big homer to the Sabres and no way objective but that's exactly what makes him so hilarious. When Rob Ray got his face broken by Tony Twist, Jeannerette was trying to make all kinds of excuses for Ray how he couldn't get this "fight system" going, etc. Funny guy and he must be a genuine Sabres fan. :)

Jeanneret has to be my favourite pbp commentator in sports. No other team in any other league has a commentator as passionate as he is, and he makes the games, especially with a team as lacking as the Sabres, great to watch every night

God how I miss the aud!!! I know it sounds strange but I have dreams about it! so when the announced it would be demolished I had to see her one more time I was able to sneak in with a guy I met outside wanting to do the same so we were able to find a way in which we did we didn't vandalize or steal we just wanted one last vist we were even to take the chance of getting arrested we would just tell the police we had to say goodbye and if he was a true buffalonian he would understand..hopefully so on the way out one of those giant sound absorbers that swayed from the rafters for so many years were laying in one of the seats in the lower golds i did have to take so I would always have a piece of her...sue me. greetings from the best city in the world Buffalo ny
