I never got over loosing this Man,in such a horrible way,God Bless You Rick♥️

Rick kept up with the times writing songs. Media kept refering to him as teen idol which he hated. He was MAGNIFICENT. Along with Elvis, Jerry Lee, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Little Richard. True Foundation of Rock & Roll

I truly wish the RIGHT people would do a DECENT biopic of Rick. For all the youngsters who have no idea what REAL TALENT is about, they would discover the man who knew and did it all.

Rick Nelson was the real deal. Sam Phillips said somewhere he would have loved to have him on Sun. You should remember that Pat Boone, Fats Domino and Ricky Nelson had long strings of million selling records long before Elvis did. Elvis caught up when he got back from the Army but Pat, Fats and Ricky were BIG stars in the 1950s and Elvis had a lot of sales ahead of him to catch up with their record sales. Rick also was smart enough to hire Jim Burton (from Dale Hawkins' (post Roy Buchanan Susie Q band and later with Elvis' big band and even later with Emmy Lou Harris. The Burnette Brothers from Memphis wrote a lot of his early songs and, well, he was an Imperial artist who worked with Lou Chudd who already knew how to move lots of Fats Domino records. His dad Ozzie was very pushy but he and his big band featuring Harriett Nelson (his wife) was big in the 1930s and 1940s. He was surely no Bobby" or Fabian pretty boy -- he could sing, right and play. I owned all of his records and he was always the most innovative Country Rock artist (for a long time) and a modest but honest singer. Now new generations can see what he was about. I would bet that The Band respected Rick Nelson's music as much as Bob Dylan, The Staple Singers, Ronnie Hawkins, Little Richard and Cannonball Adderley, Weather Report and the really soulful jazz band. I doubt that Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash would never have reached such a large audience if Rick Nelson's Ozzie and Harriett show appearances had not opened the door for wider acceptance. He was the good boy Beatles to bad boy Rolling Stones before that formula was cooked up.

@@jesmelric I had the pleasure to meet and talk with Gunnar and Matthew after their concert in Oneonta NY. Two of the most personable, down to earth, talented gentlemen. Very respectful to their fans. They stayed long after the concert and mingled with the fans. Signed autographs, posed for photos, answered and asked questions.it would be wonderful to see them again. Oneonta is about 30 minutes from Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame. 👍👍👍
