About the sizing, would you say you could even go down 1 whole size in these? I'm normally a US 12 but I found these online in a US 11

You probably could, Dr. Martens usually run a bit big but you should do your research and actually go try them on in person to get a definitive answer

I ordered a size eu40 but that translates to a size 8 but im a size 9, most charts say US9 is EU42 but others say EU40 lol so confused

Hmm.. I think you might be mixing up womens sizes and mens sizes. Men's US9 is EU42. But I think women's US9 is EU40.
