I recommend saddle soap for cleaning, followed by mink oil to restore the leather, then a creamy lotion polish.
@oddbod865529 күн бұрын
I ve just bought a pair of Made in England 1460 Oxbloods. My last pair lasted me for seven years. Saturate the inside of the boots with baby oil. Do this every time after the first few times you wear them. Also it keeps your trotters smelling nice and also soft. Thank you for the video. All the best to the folks in Northampton. Ps, oh Lia...she's beautiful.

It’s pointless trying to condition the Docs because they have a heavy plastic coating to give them that high shine look. So whatever conditioner you use will just sit on top of the plastic and not reach the leather. Unless you apply it on the inside.
@Bloom64-rt5cmАй бұрын
Ya it’s kinda disingenuous to tell us to use the basalm on smooth leather with plastic coating. The inside fair enough I agree 100% and same for the seams and edged of it. The part for used leather I agree though
@justinholding0223 күн бұрын
It depends on which leather you choose, the greasy leather doesn't have a coating on it. But I would definitely recommend UK made Solovair over Asian made Doc's.

Should I use Dubbin for greasy leather? Or can I use wonder balsam? Wanting to keep the Matte finish.
@Lionsblade22 сағат бұрын
OK I have a pair of 8761 Doc Martens from England. I've had them for over 15 years. I have always applied wonder balsam and Dubbin but it never really seemed to make them waterproof as well I'd like them to be. I just bought some good mink oil. I have a block of natural raw bees wax as well but I'm not sure if I want to use that on these. The boots are very well broken in as well as properly taken care of. What do you guys think about mink oil and would you recommend using it on these epic 10 eye steel toe 8761's? I'm so proud of these boots and to me there is nothing more badass than black steel toe Docs. Look forward to your opinion. Thanks a lot

You want to apply the Wonder Balsam all over the boot and then wipe away any excess. Only a small amount needs to be absorbed into the leather

How many people here used to wear Docs back in the day but then you grew up and realized their boots suck now? Imagine having to tell people how the boots will punish you while you wear them. It's because they're made of really stiff, really cheap leather.

Not only is a cheaper leather but is fucking expensive, i bought the “soft leather” black and after 1 months it was creating bubbles like the black part was going out and now the shoes is totally destroyed and i trashed it. Only 1 year using, it was fucking frustrating. I just bought a new one oxblood color and i was going to buy the made in England version but it seems that they don’t do it anymore the one that its not a boot but like a shoe short version, anyway, i really hope that doesn’t happen the same

I've had my 1460 smooth leather boots for about 6 months. I've been using Wonder Balsam but the crease at the on the top of the boots has become heavily cracked. I was advised by your customer service team that this is due to wear and tear - after 6 months? How should I care for the cracked leather?
@DrMartensOfficial6 ай бұрын
We suggest using our Wonder Balsam or a neutral wax/cream, to help maintain the condition and keep the leather soft and moisturised in order to extend the life of the footwear. Unfortunately, once the leather has become dried out and cracked, it won't be possible to restore the footwear to its original condition. Thanks.
@jaz90006 ай бұрын
@DrMartensOfficial Thanks for that. Wonder Balsam is what I have been using since buying the boots. Unfortunately, it hasn't helped in preventing the leather from drying out.
