WOW.....This takes me back. 30 years ago I lived in the USA and Canada. I travelled all over the West coast of US and into middle America. The scenery was spectacular and the people I met along the way were the most hospitable I have encountered anywhere. I was based in Vancouver, Canada which I explored from West to East ( Toronto etc). I’m glad you had a safe trip Rick. 🏍

Thank You for sharing. Summer '86 when I was a sophomore at Barstow High School. I worked at Baker Burger for Mr. Carter. He owned that Burger King and the one in Barstow at the time. When school started I transferred to Barstow with my good friend Jesse. Good times and Great Memories.

Wow! What an amazing journey. Beautiful scenery, a few bad days in the snow was ok, but never fails to rain on the way back. Alot reminded me of the spaghetti westerns and scenery as well. Glad you made it safe and without roadside breakdowns. Thank you for sharing you journey with us.

Rick your trip did the trick. I loved it!! This video of your trip proves what I have been saying for sometime now. America is a big country with so much to see. We should visit other countries, but America our home has a lot to offer also. Rick you have me pumped up brother. It's time for me to get my knees in the breeze. Traveling America by motorcycle is the best and I'm going for it Sir. Now what's up for 2015? Keep doing what your doing and be safe.

Dude, I think your trip inspired me and my Dad. Me and him drove all the way from Long Island, NY all the way to Riverside, WY. We stopped at various KOAs along the way including in Nebraska in the corn fields and majority of the nice one in Colorado. We did all of this on the back of the bike as well for 3 weeks riding, exploring and enjoying the view, and y'know what? It's the best trip I ever had in my entire life and like my Dad said, a trip on a bike is FAR different than a trip in a car or truck.

Just Watched in 2021 and enjoyed every minute. This was an epic journey and I envy your adventure, but I could not have done it on a bike ;-). Wife and I drove your route from Vegas around Zion, Bryce and over to Monument Valley and it was amazingly beautiful. But we cheated and flew in and back from Vegas. Stayed a night in Bluff, Ut and ate at that diner under those two standing rock formations. Thanks for the memories.

That trip certainly sounds like NO FUN! Why would anyone want to subject themselves to such a grueling test for no apparent reason? I'm planning this same trip from Florida to the west coast on the old highway 90 to relive a 1963 family trip we took, but will definitely be taking my time in doing it...also on a 2003 Kawasaki Concours. That being said, really enjoyed the video and found those two coyotes you encountered unbelievably approachable. I've seen many coyotes in my travels, but never saw a couple that just stood there and watched me pass by. They usually trot away, so I found that particular encounter of yours very interesting and sweet.

:-) Yes, I was quite weary and looking for food and a bed ASAP. I had pretty much ran out of "sense of humor" at that point, but was elated that I had pulled it off. (Once. Not again.) The good news is that I had made some good choices on seat/handlebars/pegs, and made enough short trips to make sure that everything was as comfortable as possible. When I arrived in San Diego, I had no seat pain or back pain at all. Only fatigue mixed with relief.

In my extended experience of watching these videos the removal of music is usually a great improvement. Things I loved: The commentary. The excellent photography and stunning views and the great still shots. Things I hated: The music and the horrendous sound of the bike that sounded more like a push bike. Over all it was a good film and I am glad I watched it. Thanks.
