Who doesn't love Rick Wakeman? When I was a late teen I discovered this album (I was a YES fan). They all seemed like far away and mysterious people to a Tennessee kid at that time. Here it is October 2024 and I saw Rick on his last solo piano tour at Kent, Ohio with my youngest kid. A warm, kind, engaging and humorous man.. so very talented. He has aged with grace - I chose good heroes. I know him better now.. the only carnivore in Yes who once ordered a Curry for stage; a guy that wasn't pretentious and did it all with humor. He was playing along with the whole Prog aesthetic with this album. I cherish it (and the man who made it ).

I love his Book of Genesis "creation of music" idea with Moog, then filtering into the Mander pipe organ. Which he repeats at the end of the cycle. The lyrics are a bit cringey at times, but sincere.

First time I ever saw Rick Wakeman was, with a school friend, in 1976/77 at the City Hall in Newcastle UK - this was his latest album at the time. I went again to see him last week 45 years later with that same school friend. The massive array of Synths and Moogs that Rick had back then has become a lot smaller but his talent has certainly not diminished - the guy is a genius and so is his son !!

Truly a Hall of Famer. This LP always reminded me of what a possible collaboration with Alan Parsons would produce. The critics did not treat this LP well, and some have even bashed it. Personally, while this isn't my favorite Wakeman LP, I still find it truly underrated.

I saw Rick play this live in 1976 with the English Rock Ensemble. I was in the first few rows but I can't remember where, Sheffield or Nottingham I think. It was a great show I know that, Ashley Holt was brilliant, he's my favourite vocalist that has sung with Rick. I had the original vinyl LP with a foil tube that you placed in the centre of the disc, this appeared to make it look as if Rick was stood up in your room. For a number of years this album was unobtainable. I have it in Mp3 format now. Great times.
