Great performance and spectacular cape Rick. Great to see that your cape-wearing days are not over yet. This is a gorgeous song and beautifully played by all musicians. Special mention to Dave on guitars and Mollie for her sterling vocals. What a sound from that 12-string guitar !.

No surprises as Ricks lost nothing in his playing & Steve Marriott would have been so proud of Mollie for nailing this classic down to the ground . I would have never thought i would her any woman do this without a hitch & that she does. She is lucky in a way she didn't get her dads voice or she's be more like Janis . No one had the power Steve had & she's one lucky lady who no doubt misses her awesome dad even more the we do.

I like her voice, this version is really good I think. Why doesn't Rick try to get together again with Trevor and Jon now for 2024? The good thing is that Jon is out there going strong, he sounds great. Rick is going strong ( he must exercise and loose at least 50 lbs) but he is a powerhouse, he can do it for us fans. I think that Travor needs to get out in front of an audience from time to time.....he is too talented to only sit in a studio...his solos are amazing... I think it's time for those 3 to get together again.

What an absolute gorgeous piece of music , nicely played by Rick , Dave , Mollie and the whole of the band I suspect that bassist Lee Pomeroy is living the dream playing this classic Prog rock music track which he grew up listening to and now being able to play with his hero Rick Wakeman

Lee was also on tour with Steve Hackett several years back, when Steve featured Genesis' "Wind & Wuthering" album in the first half of the show...which I also saw SH perform the first time around: Genesis, Hartford 2/25/77.

Funny. Whenever I see old fuddys still playing, I can't help but think "Oh, hang up yer hat, mate", but seeing old fuddy Wakeman here is still a welcome sight. You want the old Yes blokes to be around forever.

Not sure I think it's pro to rely on an iPad for a performance. We wrinkly musos used to learn stuff.
@theambientassembly4 ай бұрын
As another, slightly, "wrinkly muso" I have some empathy with your comment. However, I've learned that as we get older, we sometimes lose track where the world is in the "now". For the modern day singer/artist I suspect the length and complexity of this song, plus Jon Anderson's tongue twisting lyrics could prove a challenge to almost any singer. I'm not saying modern artists aren't up to the challenge, it's just that this type of song format isn't the norm now. Also, there could have been time constraints in rehearsals and God knows what other gremlins that meant the singer felt more confident of delivering the best performance to the audience if they had a reference. From an anecdotal perspective, I've played a few local live gigs with younger (and not so young) singers and they all blatantly read from paper sheets or screens. I don't know what it is, the age of iPhones etc. - it just seems to be quite fine by the audience for singers to read the lyrics as they sing these days.

Jon is the only one who can sing this song. sorry but the soul is missing
@thehornseamariner94384 ай бұрын
But the music isn't ... there won't be an Anderson/Rick collaboration any time soon so why deny yourself the pleasure of this excellent song

Just FYI sir/madam (and for anyone else who wondered) the phone was placed nowhere near anyone else's line of vision. I have too much respect for others to do that. As for the sound quality, that is for the listener to judge.

Oh go complain somewhere else...or get up stage and show what you have to offer to the world. If Rick Wakeman thinks that this is what is what he wants to offer us at this point and time, then so be it. There will be different things along the journey and this is now what he wants to share with the world. Bravo Rick Wakeman....

I was at the gig in York and it was a great night. For all the moaners and groaners, Molly was a late substitute as Hayley Sanderson was unable to perform. Of course if you guys fancy a go, try learning completely unknown lyrics for a tour in a few days. Get real.

Not bad but a bit hit and miss imo. I’d still pay to attend. But I’d probably come away sad that I can never see the real Yes again. No Jon,no Yes.
