God bless you, Ricky you’re one of my favorites of all time. This is a real sad day.❤
@wubranch1 Жыл бұрын
He scored more than anyone, stole more than anyone, solo season or career. He played 24 years, won the World Series with two different teams, had 3000 hits, hit .279 over that long career, won a golden glove, 2nd to Bonds in all-time walks(without steroid homers threat), leader in all-time lead off homers, proving that he is the greatest lead off batter of all-time. I think he deserves to be in the GOAT conversation.

And if you take intentional walks out of the equation, Henderson would still be the all time leader in walks.

I grew up near Oakland in the Bash Bros era. I was 15 when we beat the Giants in the World Series (on the football field at practice during the 89 quake and all the goal posts and hoops were shaking back and forth - super crazy). We had weekend season tickets, first row, second deck, directly behind home plate. Killer vantage point and super fun. Growing up watching Rickey and arguably the most talent stacked team of all time was a true blessing. So grateful to my dad for making that part of my youth. A dream come true when it comes down to it. Rickey is my favorite player ever and should be in the running for best ever.

Yankee fan here. I LOVED watching Rickey - his swing was so unique, his athleticism just off the charts. He had some moodiness and times not really giving 100% and taking crazy long time back from injuries. But when he was on, focused, and firing he electrified a team. '80's Yankees never got to WS (after 1981) but they had some really good teams. Needed better pitching.
