Wanted to drop you a quick thank you for supporting the M4H 48/48 Birthday Bash as you did. Just received the Tankers Techniques IDF vol 1 yesterday. Wow that's a stunningly great book. Much like your videos here, step by step and full of great tips. Well worth it while supporting a great cause and modelling both! Next up is going to be grabbing your book. Again much appreciated and glad I "Bid like I meant it" 👍☕🐢

Hi Rick, yes, I think you have done a perfect job of creating an abandoned faded sunken M60. Painting figures is a challenge in itself. But also the result can be seen. I liked the little series very much. Thank you. 👍

Thanks, Simon. I should have foreseen the issue, but was captivated by the spot of color. And, in the end I do believe it works well. Take care.

Great stuff as always. I never fail to learn a new technique or two from each series. This time around it was the light blue wash under the figure skin tones. I also like that the figures have their backs to us at the end, their focus being the m60. It really adds to the composition.

Another great series. Thanks. One thing that struck me as a small 'miss' was those two backpacks. They were an opportunity to add more color/interest with manufacturer's logos or colorful trim.

Really enjoying these modern, nonstandard dioramas. Saw the baking paper and reminded me that I used some with baby powder to roll out sculpting clay last weekend as you’ve demonstrated.

It’s reassuring to hear that someone of your level has the same issue with the figures. Mine looked fine from a distance until you enlarge the photograph and exactly what you said, the transitions look a bit rough. So I’m going to follow your advice and slow down and use a lot thinner layers one after the other. Thanks Rick, see you in San Marcos.

Only thing I think you could have added would be a section of chain link fence in a corner using Tull fabric for the fence otherwise it's perfect.

figures look great! Did you listen to the podcast? Im going to try that technique next figures.
@RickLawlerPropaganda Жыл бұрын
Yeah I did. Gave it a go as best as I understand it, and have the skills to pull it off (which I don't). I've begun playing with purple as the wash color and I think that I like that better?

What an absolutely brilliant scene! Does it take you long to plan Rick, or does that depend on having a very interesting reference picture?
@RickLawlerPropaganda Жыл бұрын
Honestly, most of my scenes just evolve as I'm working on them. The references in this one helped a lot, and set the tone - for sure. Other times, it's just me fumbling around until something begins to reveal itself.
@Vincent-gc8zd Жыл бұрын
@Rick Lawler : Propaganda You're a real artist Rick, having a plan or not. It's always a joy to see things evolving on screen, and tbh, I wish I had a fraction of your skill and imagination. I know we're all very excited to see what we're going to see on your bench next. 😀

Fantastic work! ❤ But unfortunately, the fenders, air filters and boxes were made by aluminium on M60 so no rust there 🧐😬
