Tsali, I have thought of this campground many times over the years. My husband and I camped there overnight in September back in the 80's in our tent. I think we may have been the only ones there. We were surprised they had showers, just a curved pipe coming out of the wall with warm water, but it did the job. Boy, has it changed! We were sitting around our campfire that night and all of a sudden the ground began to sparkle. It was so pretty, we couldn't at first understand what was going on. Then figured it must have been glow worms after some investigation. Ohio has fireflies but had never seen anything like this. A night to remember. Thanks for bringing back the memories. I love your channel, please never give it up. Give Akela a hug for me.

Thanks for the great comment. I will be going back in September, so now I will have to stay up late (after 8pm) to look for glow worms !! Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving the great comment !

I am subscribed. You are so far the only RV 'ER in North Carolina that has a U-tube channel, that I know of . You have shown me that there is a lot to see and do, right here in our home state. Thank you

Thanks so much for Subscribing. Check out the NC Playlist for most of the stuff I have visited. Mostly Mountains, but will be going to the coast in October !

Rick, Thanks for the video. I live only 1.5hrs away from Tsali, but it's been years since I've been there to ride. Replaced the cardboard "mattress" the manufacturer put in our camper, anxious to test it, and decided on a quick trip to Tsali. Set up on Site 36, the Hosts were wonderful and great trails to ride. Thanks again and keep the videos coming!

Very cool! I wish I could bring my bike, but SOMEONE would put a stick in the spokes!! So we just go hiking and swimming!

Well Rick, I just ran across this video again and enjoyed it again. Isn't it pretty in that area? It seems to have built up and changed some, of course it has been ages since we were there. It is nice to see places that my hubby and I have visited together. He passed away in '05 but we had camped since 1968 first with our boys and then just the 2 of us. Really enjoy mostly the National Forest's, never used electric or water hookups. Thank you again. Am enjoying some of your older videos.

So, I love how "real" these videos are. No organic tofu and birdseed for breakfast here. I laughed when I looked at my own hand holding a doughnut while I was watching this! Getting ready to leave in a few days for 2+ weeks boondocking Colorado and Arizona and my comfort food is coming with me. Doughnuts in the woods....yumm!

I love to play in the woods, but I don't need to leave the civilized world behind. No Steel and Flint for me, a BIC lighter works just fine !!

Really appreciate you showing the bathrooms. I'm actually going to that campground soon so a relief to know the showers are clean and working. Didn't see any bear boxes though, but saw bear trashcans. Keep up the great videos!
@GoingNoWhereFast5 жыл бұрын
Smoky Mountain bears are not very "intrusive". so you can keep your food in your car and they won't peel it open like the grizzles in yellowstone do. It was a nice campsite, just remember the Shower on the right is warm, the other is "refreshing"! LOL

Wow. The day was perfect for your drone to catch great views of the train. At first it looked like you where so close to the train that I was wondering what vantage point you had from above and then - duh - I realized that it was a skilled shot from the drone-master. Thanks for the close up of Akela. He has a beautiful coat.
@GoingNoWhereFast5 жыл бұрын
Ya, I was going to have the drove at head height then raise it up as the train got really close, but decided just in case the engineer saw it, I didn't want him to throw on the brake..LOL... So I raised it above the train!! I will tell Akela you like his coat, he can be sensitive !! LOL... Thanks for the comment. Always good to hear from you !!

I like USFS campgrounds! You're right, they often are more rugged and spartan. Also more rustic and often less used. Got my sticker yesterday and it goes on tomorrow!
@GoingNoWhereFast5 жыл бұрын
Fantastic, Thanks for letting me know ! I'm expecting you will need to give seminars at campgrounds about what that sticker is all about... or people might think is something dirty..LOL :-)

Really enjoyed today's tour! Finding that railroad was quite a surprise. Very nice drone work on it, too. Are mosquitos a problem there? (Nice stick, Akela. Thanks.)
@GoingNoWhereFast5 жыл бұрын
We were right near a stream, and the tiny little flies were a problem. Did not see many mosquitoes, but there were a lot of people between us and the lake, where they are usually found.

I have been enjoying your channel and decided to subscribe. I would be out there traveling and seeing the sites but age and arthritis have caught up with that dream (Maybe). My dog and I try to take a day trip now and then just to hike the areas near us (Daniel Boone National Forest) as there are some easy to moderate trails. I would love to see an Aliner but the closest dealer is over 4 hours from me. Maybe one day I will take the plunge to see an Aliner before age and arthritis really slow me down. Beryl (the dog) says to give Akela a hug for her.

Don't give up hope. So much about pain and limitations are what we put on our selves. And I know that its can be incredibly hard (like loosing weight, I keep trying!), but look for good days and take those to the bank with fun activities ! Hang in there, and we will keep you motivated and entertained !! Thanks so much for the comment and Subscribing !

@@GoingNoWhereFast I won’t give up hope. I will just take my time and enjoy each day. I am planning to visit my sister soon. She lives about an hours drive from Falls Lake (Holly Point) so I have put Falls Lake on my list as a destination to visit and hike some of the trails with Beryl. Thanks again for a wonderful channel.

OMG, Alchol, after getrting oout of the kayak afteer a day of paddling, poured a little Crown Royal into the coke can. too a couple of sips and headed over to the out house. When I came out, the park ranger, who I knew came over to talk. Somehow, he detected my drink and made a comment. Of course I denied it and left quickly. I think he gave me a pass and I never did that again.

Was at tsali 2 weeks ago awful campground didn't stay went to deep creek
@GoingNoWhereFast5 жыл бұрын
When I first got there it was really crowded as some tour groups were there with summer kids and they take one campsite and have 20 kids. So they trash the place. The Host was a very nice old guy, (in his late 70's) and wasn't too "strict" with people following rules, so it wasn't great, but then when the groups left the next morning, the place was much better. And the BIG Attraction is the number of miles of Bike trails. One of a very few places in the area. And Of course Deep creek is a commercial RV park for $38-$50, Tsali is a NF Campground for $20. Thanks for the comment !
@atlantaguy7623 жыл бұрын
@@GoingNoWhereFast Correction: Deep Creek is a National Forest Campground just North of Bryson City. Very nice place.
