I love Pond. My wife and I go there whenever we can. It’s stunningly beautiful at night, mixed with wholesale terror when the wind hits 55 mph and the snow is blowing sideways. Great video

Wow, the haze/fog had such a dramatic affect on the footage... beautiful view, even with the rain, you can tell how beautiful it is. Akela is such a good listener! I like the fact you remind us to be aware of the unsafe conditions. On several videos, I did not even think of flooding, falling trees or lightening. (And I was trapped once in the foothills in a lightening storm, you think I would remember!) Glad Akela has treats, my Donar loves duck jerky... the donut - well I am an “old fashion” with and without chocolate with coffee, so the sweetness of the raised donut is not getting to me. BUT the size of that thing - Wow!
@GoingNoWhereFast4 жыл бұрын
There are a few places that the donuts are worth crashing the diet for, that wasn't that great except for size and warmth... I have some donut recommendations sites I need to check out according to my viewers.... Maybe a future Video !! LOL

5 minutes from our farm...very cold climate up here for NC. Don't get higher than 85 on most days. Highest temp I ever seen up here was 88.

It is one of my favorite places! But I've been told not to camp there except during hunting season, which isn't right. I like camping when there isn't shooting !

Hi Rick. Another fun video.Christmas tree farms? Love that idea. I wouldn't want to be out there in hunting season with all the Elmer Fudds blasting away !
@GoingNoWhereFast4 жыл бұрын
Actually, NC has a very good "Hunter Safety Program" and a pretty good record on accidental shooting. They tend to shoot what they are suppose to, and don't shoot of hills. BUT, Its a very good idea to wear bright Orange clothing during the fall !! Thanks for the comment !

hello from the sunny ozarks rick!! all the trails paths mountains ,clouds remind me of the ozarks! theres even a donut and coffee shop deep into the ozarks! like nc, no neighbors!! i use my aviation maps along with gps here deep in the forrest wild! tight lines and cheers!!
@GoingNoWhereFast4 жыл бұрын
Yes, if you know how to read an Aviation Chart, its a big help in determining where you are. I can get them on GaiaGPS, so its fun to use them. Mostly though, I just never get lost. I just take a lot of scenic routes!

I’m sure glad you clarified that you got treats for Akela too. That donut looked so good. Almost as good as that mountain top view.

We bought him an entire box of bite size milk bones to keep in the car so he has treats when his mean nasty owner buys pastries and won't share them. And, he is getting really good at catching them as I throw them over the back sit !! LOL

I agree, I wish I had the patience to actually take artsy photos. I used to do a lot of nature photography when I was in College, but nothing every came of them and I just gave up taking the time. I see people wading streams, and setting up cameras with long lenses and long exposures and I remember those days...LOL. Moving too fast these days, maybe I'll slow down soon !! Thanks for the comment !

There's Tri-state corner where you can stand in Va.,NC,and Tn. all at the same time.

Yes, we were going to go there, but the rain chased us a way. We will be back here in a few weeks and do that corner and some camping up here !

@@GoingNoWhereFast thanks so much. Do you think that’s because it’s actually a good spot, or just a lot of people around?
@GoingNoWhereFast2 жыл бұрын
@@ryandelgatti136 A little bit of both. And its a pretty open spots where you can get a good view, just to shot at far away targets, wait til they come to you.

Camping in the games lands is free, We haven't camped there yet, in a few weeks. And I always carry a Map and a compass, and a GPS. I have been experiementing with some Mapping programs, and I will do a video on them, but I am not convinced they are reliable enough to get you "unlost".

@@popatop75 Yes it would, if the map was "newer", the National Geographic Trails Map I have does not show it. My Aviation map of course does !
