People used to call him Mad Max in his earlier years in F1, when Red Bull was arguably not a contender for championships. I don’t love Max or anything, but I acknowledge that he is someone that expects a lot from himself and the team, he is very passionate, and at all times he wants to race like he should win. I respect him. Season 2023 was admitted to be the best season he will ever have, and every F1 driver can be happy when they are winning. But as things perform below that going forward, we will see if Mad Max comes out again.

That sim racing argument is absurd in my opinion. He was playing FOR RED BULL in the virtual 24 hour le mans the day before the Hungarian grand prix. And the only reason he was even in that race is because a red bull driver that was assigned couldn't come in that day so verstappen had to come in to save red bull's ass again, WHICH HE DID. THEY WON THE FUCKING 24 HOURS OF LE MANS AND THANKED HIM FOR IT AS WELL!

Their main driver is a 3 time world champion. Yukis problem isn't that he shouts or swears. It's that he loses time with his anger. Example like Mexico 2023. When he goes to overtake Piastri and they collide, Yuki goes off the track. But instead of immediately turning onto the track, in anger he hits the car and makes angry hand gestures many times losing him multiple seconds. Only after he takes his anger out he goes back on track.

FYI, the Sim ban is not real. It was just published by media, but it is not true as confirmed by Max himself, so that is just fake news. Also, he confirmed that his sleep schedule is fine and that he had the sleep required to perform during the Hungarian grand prix, so that he is sleep deprived is also bullshit. There is nobody more passionate, more motivated and putting more work in to become the best at Formula 1 than Max Verstappen. Also he was Sim racing the whole week before the Belgian Grand Prix in wet conditions which made him deliver one of the best qualifying results ever compared to the other teams that had better cars. Max was between 0.6 to 0.8s faster.

Crofty harping on about the sim racing was the most annoying part of watching the race on Sky that weekend. Like, why the focus on it? Sure it might've had an effect but it wasn't the only reason, and I think it was probably quite minor compared to the fact that Hungary was an off weekend by Red Bull's high standards.
