Agree with guy. I was never the best with fairway woods tried and got fitted in to the ping fairway wood and shortly after also put the 7 wood in the bag. Now fairway wood area is probably the strongest part of my game and vastly overtook other areas. So easy to hit and make good contact with shaping in the bottom. Although with Rick talking about the M2 with Taylormade and the like of cobra releasing modern replica’s like the M4 they have released. Taylormade if they made a modern release of the M2 might be a bold statement but I think would out perform the stealth range on sales

I might have to go with the Cobra F9, though with a little recency bias. Mostly due to the performance/affordability combo! Many of the best clubs when they came out weren't priced to be affordable for many average golfers

I have both the Driver and 3 Wood and they might be the best clubs I’ve ever owned, pretty forgiving, extremely hot face, only complaint is the yellow color, it’s grown on me but I wish it wasn’t a bright yellow

Yes 2016 M2 driver !! I bought mine on eBay last year in excellent condition for $170 with a senior shaft. Last year I’ve had two custom fits at 2ndSwing and firstly custom fit for a Hzdrs smoke yellow 5.5 then in November a Small Batch Evenflow Riptide CB 6.0 shaft. Average smash is 1.49. This baby isn’t leaving my bag anytime soon. Extremely forgiving. Best driver ever owned and I’ve been playing nearly 30 years! Out of curiosity I just bought a 2016 M2 3 wood in excellent condition with same Evenflow Riptide shaft as My current Sim Max 3 wood and 5 woods. Going to be fun comparing 3 woods, love the feel and performance of the sim max. I do notice that the 2016 M2 3 wood has a sharper leading edge and is much smaller and it doesn’t have twist face

I recently took my G425 Driver out to the course for the first time and it has given me so much confidence! I use to hit the Callaway Big Berther Titanium 454, which I would hit these nasty slice shots constantly. And now I'm hitting straighter shorts with a baby fade! When I did hit the Callaway straight I would get around 250yds max, and with the G425 I hit it 297yds :D. Will be testing out the fairway wood soon as well :D

I have just started using the G425 LST and it is incredible. I had issues with slice and I am now hitting 90% of my drives very straight. The 3 wood is just awesome an so easy to hit clean and straight and I have yet to get the 5 wood. I also love the G425 irons as well.

I’ve just taken out the 2016 m2 HL out of the bag and replaced it with the much older 905r from titleist. The m2 had a regular shaft and 905r has a stiff and it just feels so much more controllable for me. And I love that classic look behind the ball.

I saw this last week and became obsessed with buying the G425 3 wood (max). Tracked down a local person selling one and bought it for a great deal. Damn near brand new, the seller didn’t like it.Took it straight to the range it was odd. But I figured out a proper swing for the club. Works best with an effortless controlled swing rather than a full “kill it” swing. This might be nice to keep in the bag. Still love my Old Taylormade M1 3 wood.

Cobra F9 is a beast. Ive never hit a driver that separated launch and spin as well as that club. It just puts the ball in a different window from any other driver I've used. Cobra F8 3 wood with the Baffler rails is a personal favorite too. Ping hybrid with the flat setting.

The flat bottom on the g425's is something I wish cobra did with their woods. I don't like the curved bottom on woods. Makes me feel like I have to scoop the ball off the ground cause there's so little contact between club and ground, but they've compensated with the double rails which allows the user to hit a bit down on the ball and the club won't dig. But I love love my cobra speedzone driver. Sound, feel, price. Super forgiving club. I'm still getting 270 on off center hits. And the milled face just looks and feels great. I'll be playing this club for a long long time.

I have the G425 Max Driver, 3W and 3i hybrid. They are absolutely my favorite clubs. I like the louder crack off the driver unlike many i guess. Ping is absolute quality and customizing the shafts was a big deal. Each is fully adjustable and does what they say.... forgiving, long and sleek. Truly it's the golfer that makes the difference once you get any set of newer high end clubs and i think forgiveness is a big deal. 5 yards distance (even 10) here or there really doesn't effect my level of golfer at all. Being in the fairway, hitting a target area and good dispersion does.

I have the ping G425 max driver, I brought it to the range last summer along with the Titleist TSI3. I'm a lifetime fan of Titleist and it was hard to do but after like 4 drives with the Ping, I knew it was a no-brainer. Not to mention it has a stiff shaft but I need XS, and I could still see how forgiving it is. No complaints on the distance either. Got to try the TaylorMade P790s. Currently using the Titleist 755s!

I must say I got a second hand Ping G 3 wood 14.5 with the stock Alta stiff shaft and I absolutely can't miss hit it. It sits so flat to the ground and such a shallow face it's beautiful. It performs so beautifully off the ground especially tight fairway lies. When using it off the tee no tee is needed just a tiny cushion of grass. Great club...

A good metric would be clubs that stay in the bag of pros the longest with no contract obligations, maybe a few have the same 3 wood from 5 years ago etc, they could change it but they haven’t. Difficult to measure I’ll admit but saying X is the best without trying all the others in a category or without data is too subjective. The answer would likely be something very boring like a vokey going off of choice of pro, but even then the differences between wedges is smaller compared to other clubs
