If Bryson is the "Mad Scientist" of golf, then Martin is "The German Engineer". What a beast of a gentleman with incredible insight explained in an eloquent and entertaining manner. That is the recipe for amazing golf instructional content and why I am a huge fan of your KZbin channel(In addition to Rick's of course!!). Good luck this year Martin! I'm rooting for you.

Martin Borgmeier is genuinely an awesome guy. This podcast let me learn things I didnt realize and he's always been encouraging and invested in himself improving but also others. As he is working towards 240mph, I'm working towards 400 yrds and I know who I'm rooting for this weekend. Thanks Rick for doing this episode!

The mindset of what I think a true competitor: I will gladly share my secrets, because then I can compete against the best. Sure, more amateurs will flock to the sport, more people doing it just for the fun. But, it will also ignite the passion of someone who didn't know it was an option. That passion is so addictive! Martin is truly one of the greatest ambassadors to long drive, but also to golf in general. His channel, and Regecy, is full of such positivity about the sport. They encourage each other, their "opponents," and everyone. Such a great episode, Guy and Rick! And thank you, Martin, for being you.

@39:30 If you go and play you would either have to show your EGA handicap card or your PGA membership card. Same is in The Netherlands. Our EGA card is digital now in the phone app of the golf association. There are courses (like Old Course, St. Andrews) where there is a handicap limit so your need to carry some proof of it.

Liked the talk about the German golf licenses. I wish courses would require some sort of tutorial in the US. Nothing crazy, but just a 5 minute talk with someone who shows you how to fix a pitch mark, replace a divot, quick course explainer, pace of play reminder, etc. just require it the first time someone plays there each year.

Great idea being open and transparent, what Martin os doing. Basically no secret will be revealed actually, cause it is two different things understanding, seeing what a pro does and do the actual work to get faster. And yet say 10 average tall good to ok golfers did the same, there is a good chance, just one has the twitch muscles and understanding of the rythm to gain speeds above 125 club.

Ridiculous how well he speaks english and in such a short space of time too. He's is close becoming my favourite guy in golf. And I'm not that interested in long drive

It's a shame it seems like there's not much money involved in long drive compared to regular golf 150k for a world champion isn't much surely?

I think it was very difficult to find the long drive when Bryson participated. It had some shotty video and commentary was not great. The numbers from the grid were contradictory. GolfChannel needs to get in on this and they need to do a better job with the events. I would like to watch more.
