Bit of alcohol related factoidage for ya - you're subbing ice cream for booze because your body is used to the level of sugars present in the alcohol you were drinking. Alcoholics talk about this all the time, and in fact, hard candies like jolly ranchers, life savers, etc., are used to help fight that craving for alcohol, because you're not only craving that, but also the sugars. Good on ya for dropping the drinking Rick, it can only bring good things! 😊

Congrats to Luke Kwon for winning the Creators Classic. The putts he made on 17 and 18 were clutch. It was also pretty cool to see Wes Bryan’s sportsmanship when he told Luke the line to the opposite fairway and then celebrate Luke’s winning putt. That really made me see him in a different light.

For the tour championship, let the winner going into the last week take the "order of merit" and be recognised as player of the year, but then let those top 32 (rather than 30) go into a matchplay comp where each player is seeded per their position in that top 32. Run that as a stand alone season finale and keep the bonus in place if the order of merit winner also wins the matchplay
@chriscolon99903 ай бұрын
I like this, and we can have the top 4 seeds pick the course for their corresponding side of the bracket
@jasonkidd40663 ай бұрын
@@chriscolon9990while a fun idea, how are you going to coordinate four courses for a PGA Tour level event in literally a day? The seeding would be complete Sunday the week before the match play. Then you’d have to have everyone travel. The players are the least of the concern. TV cameras, towers, spectator infrastructure, then there’s the course itself. Do they even want that? Can they support a tour event? Now what happens when they get bounced in the first round?
@AManInAGreySuit3 ай бұрын
I like Rick Shiels he has done massive things for KZbin Golf, but I think he has now peeked, like many in industry, Ricks channel was the first wave and he'll continue to make great videos but we are now moving into a new KZbin Golf phase and Shiels I don't see being at the top for much longer.
@AlabamaGolfer3 ай бұрын
The Tour Championship was a bit dull to me; it just didn’t bring any drama to the finale. I’d rather see something like a match play where the top players get some sort of bonus like they do in many other sports (perhaps give them a bye, or maybe some strokes vs their opponent based on seeding). Something like have the top 28 players come, give the first four a bye, match them up by seed and by day four you’ve narrowed it down to the final four. You’d risk having someone like Scottie having a bad first day and missing out and losing viewers to a lower ranked player, but perhaps give them strokes vs their opponent might minimize that impact while giving the other person a chance to chase. I don’t know if that’s the answer, but in the current format, it was kind of a snooze fest.

Mic the players as watching the follow up videos and their commentary make their videos so entertaining. Not surprised that Luke and Wesley were favorites as they’ve played competition already at high levels. I don't understand the issue with the Tour Championship... the most consistent golfer for the entire year is given an earned advantage at the start of the week. Its not like they randomly pick names out of a hat to see who will start at -10, players have to earn their spot. Besides, starting at -10 doesn't guarantee a win. Any player could choke it away. "It wasn't an exciting finish", yeah, sometimes that happens in golf. Any player on any day could shoot a 60 and start to run away with it.

It certainly far better than the old system with expected points. That was impossible to follow. Funnily enough if you look at the scores if everyone started at level par, the finishing positions would have been almost identical (Morokawa would have won, just). It's probably the best solution. 39:32 I see what you're saying , and I'd say that it depends on how you look at it as a sport. In one way, it makes perfect sense that he would have won the season prior to these last three competitions, just based on how many points he has earned. Like for example Premier League football style, no playoffs etc. Most points acquired at the end of a pre-determined amount of games/competitions wins season. Or you look at it like for example Ice hockey (NHL, SHL etc). As long as you make it to the playoffs, you have a chance of winning the entire season, but based on how good you've played during regular season you gain some advantages (sometimes pick first round to play against, better seeding, home ice advantage etc.) It all depends on how "fair" you want it to be, or just simply that you have to be the very best when it means the most, to be ultimate clutch in your play. Yes, injuries happen, but that's all part of the game. Personally, i see no problem with either - however I always prefer playoff system, underdogs given the chance etc. Also, it's to me absolutely WILD that you were not invited to the Creator Classic. For me you are the OG-golf content channel out there. Big fan of you guys, keep doing what you do!

I think a big part of the creator that’s being missed, was it was a chance to see how these players who we watch on KZbin, even if they are low handicap (not sure if the tour wanted anyone having a real rough time out there and it wouldn’t have helped time wise) would play on a tour championship course with greens and rough like that. They obviously wanted some sort of competition so they did what they did, but I think the “winner” and best KZbinr talk wasn’t as much of the goal as it’s being made out to be IMO

Scramble play i think would have made a better viewing experience and a more fun time. This mainly looked like a pro golf tournament, you only saw some creators like once or twice and you had 0 content created by the creators. They were just treated like pros. When Tiger (or even Vijay Singh and David Duval) had his monster years, he played against everyone. It’s not his fault, but Scottie’s year can’t be ranked historically high without including these omissions.

In the 1920’s Woman’s golf was as big as Men’s game. The Opening of Pasatiempo golf club is on the historic Pathe news channel, Bobby Jones and Glenna Collet from the US played Cyril JH Tolley and Joyce Wethered from the UK, all amateurs, the crowds are 6 deep. Joyce Wethered challenged men off the same tees in money games and rarely lost. The two wars changed golf, and woman’s golf went into decline. It’s on its way back, which is great news.
