The aero jet is supposed to be fast through the air and aerodynamic. More weights and screws create drag and weight therefore compromising the whole idea.

@@lassekock5515 by even having weights there and screws it takes away being aerodynamic. Hence why they have 3 options
@holmer9413 Жыл бұрын
@@lachieb5843 Maybe. But it's possible to create them so that they enhance the aero rather than detract. Like the 'turbulators' on a Ping, it's a matter of how the air moves. If they really want to cut through the air, they could also squash the face more. Which would force us to tee it lower but it would push less air. Basically a 3 wood with a a driver loft and shaft length. Pushing less air would make it faster. I remember when 460 cc heads came out. My driver at the time was a 350 cc Cobra. The move to 460 cc made you really notice how much the air pushed back at you. Especially since at that time, the faces were even taller than they are today though maybe not quite as wide. I still have that first 460 cc Cobra I bought. It's not a club I use anymore much, but it's fun to hit around corners when I play a course with a ton of left doglegs. It's offset by a ton so hooking it is easier than not.

I play the LS. Love it. Took some getting use to. I’m a really high spin player. My fitter was getting frustrated. 3 degrees up. 2 degrees in to out. Everything was spinning 3000 +. The LS with Kali White 70x was 1800 to start. Finally figured it out and now it’s perfect. One thing I will say… you have to tee it a bit lower. Small head from top to bottom. Very long

Hey - 11 months on, curious how the driver has performed for you? I'm similar age, similar swing speed (up to 110 but on course, typically around 107) and am toying with the LS while they're currently marked down. Currently gaming a Sim Max and it can be a bit spinny at times. Playing into the wind it can be a bit balloony. What are your misses like with it?

Two many head options coming in from the manufactures. Nailed it Rick!
@maxmylett4974 Жыл бұрын
The reason they do not use the three weights is due to the effect on the overall weight on the club head. As someone who is a collegiate golfer and works with Pro Long Drivers regularly, the weight of the head is key for optimization and with clubs already taking as much weight out, they push the limits with the weighting already which can cause a change in swing speed. The drivers being close between the normal and LS is not a bad thing since low handicap/pro golfers look for minimal change and it only being 100 rpms is nice. Pros experience that same difference per factor of equipment like shaft and golf ball, so they can make the spin lower/higher if they want to elsewhere.

I tried all the new drivers at the start of the year before hurting my back and having back surgery and the only driver that preformed better for me on ball dispersion was the Callaway Paradym. However this was only slightly better on dispersion and my Cobra F9 still went further. In recovery I ended up adding 8g of lead tape to the heel and I am now drawing the ball and hit further than ever. I like the color scheme of it. You are right do companies in general (not just Cobra) really need to come out with 3 different Driver Heads?
@KMMHL2012 Жыл бұрын
They do now, the companies tried to compete with one another, and created this market for options to tailor to a buyers needs. Now they are in the thick of it, with all these companies having to produce it, because if they don't, they can lose market share to the competitors who still offer this "tailored" buying experience. When in reality all we really want is companies to make the effort to make an adjustable driver than meets the demands, distance and forgiveness.
@ConnorLyon Жыл бұрын
100% they do. A large quantity of players slice, probably half the golfers in the world slice it. Another large quantity hit the face so inconsistently they need the forgiveness. For the remaining amount of players who hit the centre consistently, they have so much speed they want less spin.

First off great review. Love your videos. Love my AeroJet LS. Went for a fitting a little over a month ago. Increased my average drive by 12.3 yards from my previous driver Taylor Made SIM. During the fitting, I also tried the Taylor Made Stealth 2 Plus, Ping G430, and the Callaway Paradym, and the numbers came out with the Cobra AeroJet LS being the best for my swing. It also brought my spin rate down 698 rpms. Went with the 9 degree loft, but increased it to 10.5 degrees, went with the Kai'li Blue 60 S shaft. I explained to my fitter that I wanted to avoid the snap hook, as that was costing me strokes. I have the 12g weight in the heel and the 3 gram weight in the toe. The reason there are 3 different models, is the AeroJet Max is draw biased, the LS is fade biased and the standard AeroJet is neutral. I disagree from the standpoint of having 3 weights in 1 version. I think Cobra got it right with 3 different drivers. I also do not even notice the design you didnt care for by the shaft, but it was a great observation on your part. Until I watched your review I did not even see it . This is my first Cobra Driver and I love it. Thanks for all of your videos. They are really informative.

I won’t be replacing my Cobra F6+ driver. Moveable weight for high-mid-low launches. Hits laser straight and hard to hit fades or draws even when I try. Adjustable loft-draw-fade at the hosel. Been a golfer for 35+ years and if I need to drop back from stiff to regular shaft flex then a new shaft with grip onto the old F6+ head and good to go. I got lucky with the beautiful Dragonfly paint that morphs blue to purple to blue. It gets a lot of positive comments just on looks and then more on how it launches a ball.

So, you are right in saying that the new drivers are not an improvement on a driver that can be picked up for £125-150. As a golfer with a limited budget, what are we really gaining from the improvements in technology over 4 years? TM original M2, Callaway GBB original Epic, Cobra F9 still perform as well as the current crop. Is the real answer to stick with what we've got until we need to replace in c 5-10 years?

I agree with your assessment and it's odd that cobra went this route considering Cobra literally made a hybrid with the 3 weight setup (toe, heel and back) called the Cobra King TEC (2021). This would give us optimal customization of our club if they put weights on all 3 sides. I did however end up purchasing the Aerojet Max since I slice pretty often and I will say that it works wonders. I now hit it straight or with 0 - 20 yard draw from my target. It is extremely rare for my to slice the Aerojet max unless I strike it off the heel with a bad swing. I've even hit the Aerojet Max on the far toe side with very little negative consequence which is amazing compared to my Cobra Fly XL. So far I love the max and how much it has improved my drive both with accuracy and distance.

The reason for not putting 3 weights in 1 driver is because the adjustability of the hosel. You can go F N D bias in that. Swing weights make a huge difference in how the club comes into the ball. So with weight changes and hosel changes that can really screw with the player. There needs to be a neutrality without big swings in weight change.

Rick couldn’t agree more with the ending. As a golf who is currently making improvements and swing changes. I am finding some… let’s say differences in my evolving ability to equipment. I was a huge slicer before, but now I have corrected that and potentially draw too much now. I am still learning to control my head. Anyways I agree. Why 3 different heads. Why not make one driver that does everything? Not just for cobra but for all drivers. Or even 2 drivers where you can buy tour level equipment and the other that’s for everyday joes like us to scratch golfers. Marketing catch phrase, the driver that evolves with you!

I got my F9 for dead cheap. I love that club, and sad they didn't do the cnc milling this time around.
