The father south you go in Italy the more alive it becomes. Naples is the quintessential Italian city; pizza, opera, drama, traffic, talking with your hands, romantic. Such a beautiful area with a lot to explore and see; Pompeii, La Reggia, the Amalfi Coast, Ischia, Procida, Bacoli, Vesuvius. A feast for the eyes!

88% Italian-Americans come from Southern Italy: ''San Gennaro'' Festival exist in Naples and NY.. Completely unknown in Rome and in the North.

Highest Point You have to try and visit Naples more than anywhere I think you're right a lot of Italian Americans can trace their ancestors back to Naples also Sicily.

@@braschigiovanniangelo5559 Lol. There are plenty Italian-Americans with Northern ancestors, especially in California, but also in NY. But it's true that the majority came from the southern regions and Sicily.

Yes I agree with you. I am British & recently went to Naples twice in the last several months & fell in love with an Hungarian girl and all the shabbiness and the dirt that people talk about wasn't visible to me simply because I loved her so much that I started to see Naples through her eyes and it seemed like a paradise on earth for me. Naples is a rough diamond & requires a lot of patients but I think once you get past the first few hurdles than it will never leave you. Ciao Bella
@123benny421 күн бұрын
I'm sure there are a lot of patients here and there, but if you run across them on the streets of Naples you should have a lot of patience. LOL!

When were done with covid I'm coming to visit naples. I'm part italian and have been exploring that side of my family by learning the language as best I can. Naples is definitely going to be my first stop.
Just went there - what a crazy, wild and wonderful place. I will never forget my time there.

I've been to Vesuvius, it's a must see! Absolutely loved it :)
@noopurmehrotra4 жыл бұрын
Mount vesuvius is stunning, it looks wonderful from the calm gulf of Naples, but if you are planning to do the hike up the mountain understand this: first there is a winding, crazy sharp turn ride up the mountain (preferrably take a cab, driving is not for faint hearted), its hard to find a parking spot in busy season and the road is barely wide enough for one vehicle with cars parked on both sides, then take a cab to the ticket station and then from there it is a couple of miles hike to the top which is fun , enroute to the top,there is a stop where you can get some lemonade (made out of giant lemons) and some snacks.

This video does an awesome job representing the true essence of my city. Naples It's not all about bad things heard on tv, that kind of s**t is everywhere. "love it or hate it", that's what they say but what I say is that once you understand the heart of Naples (with its history, its traditions, its people) it becomes a huge part of you. Thank you mr Stevens for making the beauties of this ancient place pop out like never before. Great Job. Keep it up :)

Naples it's actually relatively safe from the Vesuvius: it's far enough not to be put at risk by en eruption. What is in danger are other towns, like Pompei and Ercolano, already destroyed in the past. By the way it's more or less like building in a seismic area (many Californian and Japanese cities)

I'm Neapolitan , my city is like an Arabian City non italian. It's beautiful , genuine and extreme, but full of contrast.

Not at all. As in any city,chances are that if you find yourself at the wrong place and at the wrong time something can happen, but it's just a matter of knowing where the most dangerous places are and avoiding them, particularly when there are fewer people around you. I think it's pretty normal after all. I'm from Naples and never been in real troubles in 25 years =) To the author of the video: Thank you for your visit and impressions, every neapolitan should be garteful for your appreciation.

Because it was a volcano, the erea was very fertile, green and pacife. So the ancient greeks got attracted to that spot and biult a city named Neapolis (Naples). They didnt know Vesuvius was such a dangerous volcano (maybe that it was a volcano after all).
