Wonderful! How many coats you have given for glazing? I tried this after watching your video . After third coat I stoped because I couldn't find lost and found edges properly.

This is lovely! I’m going to try this one! I agree, painting the ‘card size’ is a fun way to explore and really have fun! I like to do these as warm ups for a larger painting. And my card recipients, love getting some original art as well!

Rick I really enjoyed working on the 2020 Christmas Card collection. I did all of the cards so far except the candy cane #12. I didn't have the colors that you suggested. I had ultramarine blue and hookers green. I think not having the colors you suggested made it harder but I think I did mix enough of what I had to make it work. I plan on painting as much as I can. I had the covid and had to quarantined so I took advantage of trying to paint because I really don't have much time since I work. My husband said I could order the paints you suggested. I was wondering if you think I should place the order or continue trying to learning to mix and use the ones I have. This is really new to me and I don't know much about colors at all and I know when you don't have the right color it just don't work and ruins your painting. I have noticed different artist use totally different colors. If I watch anyone else on KZbin video's and if follow them they may suggest other colors. I had a title You Can Paint Watercolors step by step for absolute beginners by Alwyn Crawshaw and I purchased the colors he suggested. I purchased cadmium yellow, ultramarine, alizarin crimson, yellow ochre, hookers green, cadmium red and cerulean blue. I have added a few other colors but I guess I'm asking for advice and suggestions. Would investment in more colors help me that much or do I have basically what I meal to learn how to mix most colors. I want to order the colors if its going to enhance my painting in anyway. I welcome suggestions.

If you took off the video of yourself you could make your palette bigger.

Thanks for commenting. The palette image is limited by the width. I would have to reduce the size of the artwork being done.
