Rick, I'm proud to say "I believe I have watched every video you have ever done on KZbin", and enjoyed every one regardless of subject or content.... But, this simply has to be the most passionate and enthusiastic video you have Ever made !. I loved it so much that I'm quite inspired to join Empire and give it a go myself. Your enthusiasm in this video was positively contagious to say the least. I'm going to watch again as it was simply so informative and fun to listen to. Thank you for bringing LARP to my World :)

"Ned Van Man" ! ... Sounds fun Rick, I can see you're going to be a very skilled and powerful Artisan, not to mention quite wealthy too ... And then, who knows what's going to happen? ... Love the "in character mail" just brilliant. .... I know it's only 4 times a year, but I want more, and I want it now! Ha ha, ... History of Empire and more LARP vids ... Cheers and all the best, you've had an interesting time since the dandelion wine video when I first found your channel, ... Waiting with baited breath.

Just been watching the LARP vids all over again. They're so enjoyable - You are very good at putting the experience into words. Will you be attending any more events in the future? If not, it would be interesting to know why you decided against it after it seems to have been such a positive experience for you

I'm in the beginnings of writing my own larp. I've been a larper for just under five years now, however, it's been in a larp called Amtgard. This type of larp focuses more on actual combat than roleplay. There is minor RP, but it's very much in the background and is mostly reserved for political matters. The most role play I've been exposed to is the occasional assassination plot and the inevitable war between groups as a result of that; but mostly that's just used as an excuse for neighboring parks to visit one another. This video has helped me get a basic idea of what I need to work towards in my larp. It won't be nearly as grand as Empire, but hopefully it will be immersive enough for players to have a good time.

Really great video. I'm attending my first event next weekend. The reason why your camera keeps turning off could be the maximum file size setting. Some cameras you can change this some cant. Thank you for the video!

Your enthusiasm and excitement towards this has really made me want to try it out for myself. I play a lot of tabletop role-playing and have never really seen a LARP that I could enjoy until I came across your first video on empire..I've even started dabbling in leather craft! I would love to see more from you and your progress in Empire and look forward to the next video. Hope you have a blast this April at the next event!

Sounds like you found your passion Rick! :) I recently started doing improv theather, and I have similar feelings about it. LARP sounds similar in a way but with a certain theme and it lasts for days rather than minutes.
@art0000t6 жыл бұрын
Hi Was , As old timer at LARP, yes LARP is very much 'improv theater. The big difference between 'improv theather' and 'Live Action Role Playing you playing though a game. Like in a game there rules (like in a board games) and you play out goals to complete. One set by yourself, other characters or persons/ref that runs the game. The main aim of allot of LARP is to work though goals and the story without your character dieing. A more better known 'theatre game' is the murder mystery weekends. 'The Seven Valley Railway' do a really good one. The LARP/theatre game mystery is normally set in 1920/1930s. It is a good first event to do as they are aimed at beginners and you don't need all the kit. It's also just for one day. No need for camping kit.

Great video, and it was wonderful to see just how much Empire has enchanted you. I felt very much the same after attending way back in Y1E1, and seeing a fresh-faced new player really start to get immersed and involved is great to see! I had a careful listen and I don't think you came out with anything incorrect, by the way. A few very slight inaccuracies, but nothing to write home about! Best of luck with your preparations for the Winter Solstice event in April!

Are you using something like a DSLR ? They often have a limit of 4GB per clip, about 12 mins, something to do with the EU and tax, as it becomes a video camera after that limit. Tested has an article "why-digital-cameras-have-a-30-minute-video-recording-limit" I know what you mean about 'in character', my ex was a police special, i got involved in a bit of training, in the local courtroom i played a potential criminal, when the police approached and started questioning me, i fell straight into character and was like 'Where did that come from!! ' :D Can't wait to see the lamp being used in the field, and if the others accept it, though i can imagine you making more of them in the off-season ;)

Sparky Projects cheers Patrick, I think the issue is with the quality of the SD card, did some experimenting earlier and got an extra 5 minutes by switching the card to a better quality brand.

Sparky Projects Is correct the Canons are limited to video length due to a 4Gb limit. But the good news it can be sort of fixed with Magic Lantern, not sure what model you have so check if it is supported. I will post links in another post as sometimes posts with links get blocked, so check spam box.
