Ricky Gervais has been at the top of his game for decades now I think. He often says and does these things without it affecting his career because he has so much under his belt at this point that his career is solidified. He has so many movies, tv shows and also his stand up.

Part of it is also because he can explain why his jokes are jokes before anyone tries to cancel him for it. A bit like as Eminem showed us in Rap battles, if you say what the opponent is going to say about you before they do, they've got nothing.

He can say the things he says because he's British. He neither lives nor works in America. He doesn't have to be afraid of being canceled. That's why he's standing up there telling the truth to these people's faces. He doesn't do comedy for these people, but for those on TV.

I so love that DeNiro, Scorcese and DiCaprio were laughing and had a sense of humour. Tom Hanks (never liked him anyway) looks worried about what might be revealed regarding him - like he's part of the problems Ricky is calling out. He speaks the truth and doesn't give a f***. Love him.

Hollywood is still there - it hasn't been destroyed at all. "Ricky Gervais uses normal British humour" is more accurate. The Internet insists that every conversation is "Destroying" or "Blasting" or "Ripping" etc etc. This constant over-exaggeration of meaning turns everything into a crisis or a conflict.
