Watch this interview then go and watch anything interview by Jimmy Fallon. The differences are so vast. This is such a great interview, genuine laughter and you can tell they'd walk out of that studio and still act the same.

Jimmy Fallon caters to a wide range of audience, which means that unfortunatelly not all of them are going to appreciate an intelligent interview

@JamesTeranov8 жыл бұрын
Phoenix Zappa you really don't know do ya?? Ricky's laugh is genuine to the extent that he has a very small 'click' where if he finds something funny he has to let out air.. he had in specific two types of laughs. He bleeding laughs like this with & without knowing the camera is there say in blooper reels/behind the scenes.

@Mathesson110 жыл бұрын
For years people have discussed their belief in God on radio and television and referred to their belief in God on award shows or in interviews and now everyone can voice any opinion or belief on these forms of media, and he so happens to be an atheist.... Which he brings up 95% of the time because he is ALWAYS asked about it.
@Mathesson110 жыл бұрын
Matty6660 You may be an atheist, but i doubt you're one of the most well known people on the planet and are constantly asked about what it is you believe. That would be the main difference i bet.

Derek was very poor... Gervais needs Stephen Merchant to keep him in check. It was so maudlin and soppy. I hope his next project is sharper....

Aimee Frost I wasn't trying to tell you what YOU should think of it. That's up to you entirely. If you liked it then that's all you should care for. But the lengthy 'Weeping over the resident's postumous video, or the 'by the numbers' redemption of the wealthy son or Dougies replacement. For me, it disappeared into unwitting self parody. There's nothing unusual about a writing team failing after a professional separation (hello girls was equally half inflated) As for the critics & public... you must've performed some incredible feat of media/social gymnastics. I know some hardcore Gervais fans who're praying this was a 'blip'. As for the reviews... there were some good ones, but they were by no means unanimous. All great artists fail occasionally.
@mic7able8 жыл бұрын
Aimee Frost Objectively is a good thing (I think you've got them mixed up). IMBD however is neither critic nor public. It's also very U.S.centric (schmaltz is king) Regardless off that, you're citing polls rather than addressing the proposed failings...
@mic7able8 жыл бұрын
Aimee Frost Yeah, that's it.... I'm not in tune with my emotions! I don't like predictable schmaltzy goo... therefore I'm a dullard (I bet you practically came in your knickers when Friends came on). And 'Objective' doesn't mean 'factual'; it means to consciously acknowledge the facts - but mainly to remain unbiased or un-influenced. Something you've failed to do. I'm a huge RG fan, Me and my gf listen to the old XFM tapes almost every night. 'Derek' may've hit the American comedic low notes of horrid emotional overspill and obvious glassy eyed pathos... but for fans of R&S it was a sad day. And yes! I am obsessing! Like Bowie's 'Tin machine' or 'Oh Yoko'.. every genius has their bad days. Your failure to recognize this makes me question whether you ever got his comedy whatsoever - don't tell me, if you met him.... you'd say "can you do the dance"?

Noticed how Ricky quickly moved on from Christian mentioning Karl. Egotistical bastard
@xxczerxx9 жыл бұрын
***** I bet it goes beyond that though,I think Ricky feels that Karl owes him for getting him where he is (which he did, but that's still not right if true). This is just my speculation though.... it's awfully suspicious though, especially given that RG has cut off ties with Stephen Merchant too. It's all kinda saddening, as a huge fan of their material -- no trio comes close to Smerch, the K-man and....'the Pastie'?
@Owensey9 жыл бұрын
+Mac Huh? It was Christian that moved it on from mentioning Karl. He was talking about how Karl surprised people, then was making the point about now in season 2 there is someone else who could surprise people. Nothing to do with Ricky's ego.

@xxczerxx8 жыл бұрын
prettynina1000 Read that interview Karl did (think it was Metro), the one where the headline was "I'll never work with Ricky again". Proof!
@Owensey8 жыл бұрын
Mac I read the article you're referring to, and it has nothing to do with them falling out or anything. All it was about was that Karl doesn't want to do any more acting, and Ricky Gervais was singled out because that's who people most want him to act with again. Elsewhere in that interview, he says he wont do the podcasts again, because "they were of a time" and I would agree with that. (metro.co.uk/2015/11/23/karl-pilkington-wont-be-reuniting-with-ricky-gervais-or-acting-ever-again-5521332/) They're not enemies. If they had fell out, I doubt he would be saying "I got lucky meeting them" in an interview with Radio Times. (www.radiotimes.com/news/2015-10-07/karl-pilkington-i-owe-my-success-to-ricky-gervais-and-stephen-merchant-trying-to-annoy-me)
