@@ariadnechloemaryfurnival7847 you don't know that... they could mean metaphorically measuring and picking apart... have to set the scale. just kidding. but yeah, i don't know how people can't see this, it's been SOOO damn obvious for so long now. they don't even have to hide anything. and in a way, trump actually kinda exposed this. he's just so blatantly obvious about it, for a while i thought maybe he'll be the catalyst to finally bring down the system. cause at this point, there is no fixing it, there's obviously no voting our way out... like south park said it 20 years ago with bush vs gore, it's a turd sandwich vs a giant douche. and that was nowhere near as bad as our choice now... not choices... one singular choice. this extreme or that one. absolutely no middle ground, the death of moderation. as long as people keep going along with the 2 party system, it's in the bag and they can just keep making it worse and worse. we're living in a pseudo democratic version of 1984. it'd be hilarious if it wasn't so terrible and just getting worse and worse. we will own nothing and be miserable, so any scrap of cheese that's offered, we'll do whatever we're told just to survive. there is no thriving, other than for the rich and powerful.

I only vote for whoever IMO can do the job best and represents my beliefs. That's why I'm sitting this next election out. I don't know what happened to Trump because I voted for him the last two times around, but he's changed and not for the good I might add. Maybe it's because of the cult like following he now enjoys, like his Hollywood stint, gone to his head. That clown he chose for VP is a loose cannon also, IMO. The problem is that these days, nobody does any background research on anyone running for political office. It's just like you say, Ricky. If anyone disagrees with their uneducated/uniformed point of view, they're automatically regarded as from the other party. JD Vance, do a Wikipedia on him and his foreign policy views. On Ukraine. Ukraine should give up part of its country and citizens to Russia for "peace." Israel shouldn't have to cede any territory to the Palestinians for peace. That my friends is a contradiction in morals and ethics. There's also enough evidence on him from different sources to show he's been groomed by big money to get to where he's at in a short time. Just because he's a veteran doesn't make him golden! I am also one, so I can speak about this. Remember, if Trump’s elected, Vance will be on the POTUS ticket after Trump is gone or even before if something happens to Trump before he finishes his term.

Where did this come from? I am a rural Australian,age 78,back in the 70’s and 80’s we had one local pub about an hour out of Melbourne, a big mixture of people , commuting workers, like wharfies, tradies, professionals, farmers , shearer’s, council workers, shopkeepers etc. In that mix there were Communists , Labourites, Conservatives, hard Rightests, all sorts ; you know what , we all used to drink , laugh, joke, argue , play pool etc and there was rarely a fight. We knew each other’s views but never really cared , and now we are in the so-called Information age when we should all be much smarter and we have seemingly gone back to some kind of primitive tribalism; I’m buggered if I saw that coming and I totally do not understand it.

That led to her being dismissed, and me and my classmates clashing with the establishment ever since. That was in 1966. I don't think anything has changed on that front, except now, the teachers are the ones that recieved that abridged education.

Why would you even question that, it should be obvious", but as I was about to type, I asked myself "Why do I think that?". Instead of an angry/incredulous response, I replied "That is a good question, let me think about that.", then after thinking about it, I realized that my only source for that topic was Fox News. So I pointed that out in a later response. I had not realized how narrow my view was, but that is what happens when you have only one source or only listen to sources with the same narrative.

@Crystan
@Crystan Ай бұрын
Both sides of the political divide does not mean both political candidates, nor does it make for a ringing endorsement of either one. It just means that Republicans and Democrats should be able to come together in solidarity about the things that actually matter. Take the border bill for example, which Trump and his minions love to talk about endlessly - they literally wrote it together with democrats. Most of it was Republican! Yet it was still shot down because Trump didn't want it - didn't want to give Biden the win. We have supporters on both sides not willing to even give an inch to the other side because it almost feels like treason - and that's now how you have reasoned arguments. There are things the democrats do well, and there are things the republicans do well, so it's about time they gave up this pointless bickering.

Anyone who has studied even the most elementary economic concepts and history understands that price controls automatically cause mis-alocations of scarce resources and ALWAYS result in shortages and black markets. You'd have to be an idiot, or incredibly badly self-educated to not know that elementary fact. She is following in her marxist father's footsteps. Marxism is the most unsuccessful, deadly political and economic theory in history. You literally have to be an idiot not to know that. Beyond that she has stated many times that her goal is "equity" of outcomes, not equal opportunities for everyone. That is the very essence of marxism, no matter how hard she tries to repackage the policy as western, "democratic socialism" or compassionate capitalism. It is straight up marxism and has ruined countless economies and societies because it punishes those who work harder, take risks or invest in educating themselves. It destroys meritocracy, which is the basis for competency in all endeavors. She's a moron.

And there was a deregulation that took place that said that news could be entertainment television. When news became entertainment all the anchors started to voice how they personally felt about everything, and it was very divisive. They no longer just stated the news or events that happened. They told you their personal feelings about the subjects. That is what happened to America. I wanna go back to when the news just stated facts about an event, and we can make our own decision about how we feel about it.

Bernie Sanders words in financial inequality echoes clearer to the people today, regardless of party, years later. Before we would not dare talk against capitalism, today we call it late capitalism. Socialism or even worse comunism are scary words that haunts us in the past. We lived in an extremely idealistic binary principal belief of capitalism in the US, unable to openly admit the percentages we want of it. Now as inequality increases exponentially from 20 years ago and knocks at our door, it becomes simple to not ignore the complexity needs of the financial system and the need to not fall into 100% into a label of beliefs. A system that leaves 3 people with the same wealth of 160 million people is a fact, a reality not an idealistic principal that shall not be contested, an issue that can and needs to be addressed. The trickle down didn't happen to the bottom, and this is not even a pyramid shape. Wealth inequality at this level, it breaks it hurts us all. History of the previous 10 to 15 years. The movement to fight against the 1% was united, but broken down during a little after 2008 credit boom crash, while banks ran to grab the pile of tax cash during Obama's presidency in order not to spiral the issue further and letting them go bankrupt, which would hurt people greatly on the short run as a result. The fight against the 1% felt to big to tackle and it was fractured into many other movements that were related to this main issue. Inequality, but of gender, of race, of other causes, of which large corporations were quickly to "adopt" those vs dealing with the issue that makes all powerless, the lack of means to financially fight for a common cause. Perhaps to even look up to know what's happening in depth, instead, focusing on bringing food to the table and spend 2 days of the weak recovering, a morning in spiritually without the time to study the details of a political and of a financial system. "Those were the cards that were handed to me, so I'll be honest and work hard for my place in the sun..." Still valid but much harder now and the prize to pay is ever greater for those that fall behind, our neighbors if you are not rich to avoid them. Bernie Sanders, an independent enters as a Democrat because of the rigged 2 party system. Primaries on both parties have being locked on to the registered party you vote for, that alone nullifys any chance of leaving the easy rigged binary system of left vs right. Trump did the same from the other side by the way. Who thinks Robert F Kennedy has a chance on winning, anyone? No matter who they are as an independent, they simply can't win, unless you count the first ever held election with George Washington... Now back to Bernie Sanders during the democratic primaries, upon the chance of him winning the primary under the democratic party, him in 1st, Biden in 5th place was preferred inside the democratic party, but not the people than, the votes were fragmented leaving Bernie Sanders in 1st under those who vote as a democrat on that election with majority, that scared even leaning left news channels at the time, but it was the populous vote. Biden needed some, any, win in order not to appear a forced pick by the democratic party, which he got, and the party forced the other 3 ahead of him to fold in the name of the party. Overnight Biden was in first place and Bernie, with admittedly their innocent voters believing on no compromise, now in 2nd, due to the collection of endorsements from the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place democrat nominees. We won't know who would had won than, Trump or Bernie. Biden won. Now, to present today, we see a quick endorsement for Kamala Harris that eliminated any other contender for the democratic ticket, we see the power financiers donators, PACs internally to force Biden's hand for good or for worse, a reality to see. Even if Biden remained his ticket wouldn't had been contested... Same to be said on the republican side, no real contender to Trump on the republican ticket. The cycle repeats once more, the 2 party ticket, the 2 leaning directions leaves the people having to make binary choices once more. On voting on the lesser evil, in their eyes, on people they initially didn't pick, as a result what our elected officials fight for our constituents becomes predictable, rigged, lobbied. Their speeches talk on where the two contenders contrast (some of these cases needed to be addressed) but not the priority causes for the common good, that is a huge endeavor, that would benefit all that really needs to get done. The fight for delegates became a fight for math precision of where to be in the right places to win, which can distant the feeling of genuine causes regardless of binary leanings and labels, close to a game match with 2 divided fan bases. So we have a miopic vision, lacking long term oversight to solve causes, simply to put out fires, getting hung on our differences some that we only care more once it's on the news... Long-term causes such as inequality of wealth which one day hopefully its importance could be lessen once satisfactorily met to focus further into collective mental and physical health, eventually a more serious global and wild life health, global warming. We may still need to be in a bigger trouble for that one as it would disrupt our current comfort, a trait that all humans seek away from pain... The system put in place is not perfect and when manipulated it can quickly break. We continue to be helmed by president hopeful's put up there with a heavy hand by the party, not picked by us, or better said, we, the people. Here is hope for common dialog for a sustainable long term vision to tackles the common needs for the many.

But questioning should come out of a desire to LEARN. To enlighten oneself about something we are unaware of or unknown to us… but this is seen as ignorance and stupidity… and we must not EVER admit that because it’s considered weak and vulnerable. Instead we only seem to ask questions to prove someone else is wrong when they give the “wrong answer” and we THINK we know exactly what the right answer is so we can fire back how ignorant they are. It’s only used as an attack. And when we have a society of people unwilling to learn and only wanting validation for their points of view, then it’s just about engaging in a war of righteousness and egotism.

It's the you tube algorithm. If you say certain words you get demonetized. It has nothing to do with people it's about making money. Period

Don't you now think it has all been planned, deliberately engineered and is now being implemented Ricky? Hegelian dialectic, or problem, reaction, solution. This method basically involves fabricating or intensifying a problem, offering a draconian solution, then settling for a “compromise” that nevertheless furthers the intended goal.

If your a centrist they say you can’t be. You have to be one side or another, like life is black and white. we all know that life is not that simple

Most centrists are uniformed idiots who spell “you’re” wrong but say they’re centrists for their own naive self esteem.

You can be a centrist but in the end we have only left and right to choose from. Personally I see the choices as far right and center and the choice is simple. I'm not putting a felon in charge of anything.
