Aged 40 , 25 years ago,we had a punchbag for my teenage sons. I walked past one day after a few beers😂,and threw a few maybe 20 punches. Next morning I had a frozen shoulder. Terrible pain for the next month. One morning, I got up in pain and started doing chest expanding and breathing exercise in the bed room. Whilst wincing in pain. For 5 minutes. It must of warmed my shoulder up. I did it again at lunchtime, then again about 6 pm for 10 minutes. It worked my frozen shoulder must of warmed up. And it cured itself. I now never do anything strenuous. Including carrying heavy shopping bags without warming up. Ps .it was my right arm, and I didn't warm it up doing nazi salutes. But as I changed from labour to reform, I will probably be accused of that😮

Bless you I have had Frozen shoulders and it is so painful. I did the exercises. Didn’t work, cortisone injection, didn’t work. This worked for me and I’m very old. Get an excercise band. Hold it in front of you and gently pull out sideways 4 times, no more just a bit. Then again the next day. Just 4 times. Then gradually do more until after a little while the shoulder will release.

Just in case you get to see this. What you have is Subacromial bursitis. The real shoulder joint, the gleno-humeral joint, only goes to approximately 80degrees, the rest of the movement, when you do the hitler salute, comes from the scapular rotation. Get someone to work on the interscapular spine and muscles especially the supraspiatus and you will stop bruising the bursa under the acromium. The swelling will reduce quicker and you will sleep better. Best of luck.

Re: frozen shoulder...my deepest sympathy, Ricky. Mine lasted three years, left arm, ages sixty-nine, seventy, and seventy-one. Pain came in a bell curve: eighteen months up and eighteen months back. The only sleeping posture that worked for me was left side, slightly rolled over towards the back, with my left arm straight down from the shoulder. I've never been able to sleep on either my back or my stomach, and sleeping on my right side there was nowhere to position the left arm, on top now, so that it wouldn't start killing me immediately. I blame gravity. I was lucky in that I generally never move in my sleep. I take the sleep paralysis seriously. Someone who moved a lot would suffer for it. Rotten job by fate sticking you with a second one, that shit is just not fair. A frozen shoulder is just a stress induced shit-fit thrown by the fascia coating the bones in your shoulder joint. Best of luck finding the right coping mechanisms for you.

I fixed my frozen shoulder with physical therapy (work and pain), then ice pack for fifteen minutes, then cold red laser light treatment (at home, readily available on the 'zon) every other day. You can make it go away, mate. But it's all up to you... i never took pain killers, just took pain. The necessary evil of the condition and the cure. And you ain't old, just worn. Can mend that too.

I had frozen shoulder twice in 2.5 years. I could forget it, but if I started to run I nearly passed out and people might've thought I was having a stroke as I grabbed my arm...although the pain passed quickly. Horrible affliction, but as someone at the gym reassured me "it does go eventually". In Japan they call it 50 year old shoulder... it takes an effort to rehab it back to full mobility. Bloody horrible. Yes, be nice to animals. Even wasps! At least they eat plant pests.

Ricky! I've had the same for ten years following a crash and came across this 'qigong for frozen shoulder' here on KZbin, and it's working! Seriously only 5 minutes per day. As to the pain, buy yourself a TENS unit and place the pads on your shoulder for 20 minutes also per day. These two things have worked for me and I've been to therapists (acupuncture doesn't work as it's a nerve thing apparently). And thanks for your animal rights advocacy I see on FB every time I log on.

I had those injections twice in the same shoulder but about 15 years apart. The first time actually made me feel high because the relief was so fast. Next took longer to work but pain was all gone within a week and never came back. Top tip, if you sit at a desk to use a computer get a trackball mouse and make sure it's at a comfortable height and your forearm has support.

`Old dog` I narrowed my shoulder probs to `rotator-cuff`although I thought `impingemen` at first, anyway you need to exercise the shoulder at least 3 times a day every day without fail & the improvements will come far quicker than not bothering. After six months I`m 95% fixed, & I`m very grateful to some of the YT channels that helped me diagnose & work the pain away....it was miserable as you suggest particularly when trying to sleep.

Ricky, they told me I had frozen shoulders 5 years ago and after 3 years of waiting for it resolve itself when it didn’t I went for X-rays and it was bloody arthritis😰😰😰. I’ve had 1 shoulder joint replaced and now waiting for the 2nd. Make sure you get it checked buddy. If I fell in a barrel of nipples I’d come out sucking my thumb 😥😥

Pain killers also reduce inflammation reducing the trauma of the affected joints. I had the same issue and used ibuprofen sparingly and after about 9 months the f'kin issue disappeared.

Frozen Shoulder 😂 - I just got over one myself.. Took over a year worth of Physical Therapy and Chiropractic sessions twice a week. Do both. I found that PT kinda stalled out after two months so I saw the chiropractor while waiting for the next round of approval from the VA. The Chiro was painful for the first 2 visits but then things improved rapidly but the PT still takes forever. Used 3 Lidocaine patches a night for the next month and slept at "attention" for the next year as PT dragged on, but finally all my mobility returned. 🤗 Lance--

Frozen shoulder. I have had that in both shoulders. 1st time it lasted 3 years, absolute agony 24 hrs a day, never lets up. 2nd time lasted 2 years, and again absolute agony. It's important to keep moving the shoulder and stretching. It hurts like hell when you do move it but at least it stops it from seizing up forever.

Frozen shoulder advice - I had a terrible frozen shoulder for months a few years ago, the only thing that sorted it, believe it or not, was doing a few planks each day! After a couple days of days 90%+ sorted, after a week nothing at all. I do planks every day now :)

There is a guy that plays guitar outside a cathedral, he has his chihuahua sleeping on its own little bed next to him. I always go and stroke the doggie whenever I see it, it loves interacting with people. There you go Ricky, I have been nice to an animal.
