In my opinion, it's because he never had to compromise. He wrote, directed, produced and starred in pretty much ever single project he's associated with (sure Stephen Merchant was there too). Gervais just does not do the walk, but can do the talk more eloquently and knowledgeably that many. When you see him talking with such luminaries as Richard Dawkins, and Dawkins being really interested in what is being said... yeah.

@@Dreagostini there is a difference between being ignorant and not giving a fuck. if i was ignorant i wouldnt be aware of it. but i am, and its not stopping me from saying what i think just to avoid hurting weak minded people's feelings, because i simply dont care your feelings are hurt. and you're a little less uneducated now that i explained to you the difference between ignorance and not giving a fuck. you're welcome kid.
@Dreagostini2 жыл бұрын
@@RanRayu Yeah, looks like I used the word how it would fit in my mother tongue. In German being ignorant also mean ignoring facts you are well aware of. It's btw. pretty pathetic to try to establish some seniority in calling me kid. Do you need that for your ego or some imagined feeling of being on top in some hierarchy? But, yeah. Looks like we both learned something today.
@RanRayu2 жыл бұрын
@@Dreagostini i called you a kid because you used gg, meaning good game, in your reply when it didnt fit anything i said in my comment. this is often done by immature people and kids because they use it while gaming, but then they never took the time to think about if it fits with what they're talking about now. i think you were looking for gj, wich means good job. so no, i didnt call you a kid because of anything to do with me, i just called you a kid because you act like one. but i can see it hurt your feelings so let me give you a tip, dont start any conversation acting like a kid and people wont think you're one. also, im curious. what part of my comment made you think i was any kind of ignorant? cause nothing i said hints at me ignoring facts or being unaware of them, so i wonder what you took away as me being ignorant.
@Dreagostini2 жыл бұрын
@@RanRayu So a 50 years old person writing "GG" to someone is being childish, because only children play games. But a 50 years old person wouldn't use "gg" in any other context whatsoever. Do you know how long video games and the internet are around up until now? How long are games a thing and game related slang that finds itself outside of explicit gaming content? How ignorant. Totally ignoring the, again, hierarchial establishment of "games are for children" or "who plays games or uses gaming slang is a child". Any grown up hobbies you want to mention so I can know your perspective of a difference? Further are you ignorant about the fact that gg and gj are used synonymous. So your explainer went right into the bin.. but, again again, if you need me as a child or as childish to boost your ego in any form or shape, you do you, I guess. The original ignorance - as in ignoring facts - is your aknowledgement of people being hurt by your words and your lack of caring. So would you call an afro american or afro-anything a n-word, because you don't give any fucks? Would make a joke about someone's illness, especialy if you don't know the person? If you see aknowledging other people's feelings as weakness, you're part of the problem. It makes you - carefull, I say it again - ignorant. Why? Because making a joke or saying something doesn't shield your from a reaction. Jokes aren't inherently good, funny or appropriate. Now aknowledging or even knowiung that is.... you guessed it... ignorant. And yes. Not a fuck to give is a lack of aknowledgement, therefore ignoring or not caring about the facts, which, at least in german, would make you ignorant, too. My feelings btw. aren't hurt. I mean.. what's there to hurt me.. Your ignorance isn't, obviously. Ecxept my not cheering support for you is somehow being hurt in your books. Because people can only criticise you, if they are emotionally hurt.. That's some wild perspective, tbh. Is that so far understandable?
