Karl may unintentionally be the funniest person ever.

Still don't understand why people think Karl's an actor,let alone a comedian?Karl's a typical working class man,brought up on a council estate in manchester,who had a fairly happy childhood,but hated school.just a normal bloke that speaks his mind.unfortunately his mind is like a pinball machine full of nonesense,that he speaks before he thinks

@@fvefve12it kind of is unintentional though because he’s just being himself. It’s not like he suddenly changes into this funny character. From the day he was first on radio he was funny.
@elvisleeboy
@elvisleeboy 2 ай бұрын
@@markcutting6504Perhaps so, but I'm convinced that he's aware that he's funny and that he knows full well that the things he says will achieve laughs. If he was as simple as many people think, he would have struggled to be a bin man, let alone the producer of a national radio show.
@elvisleeboy
@elvisleeboy 2 ай бұрын
@@archiewall124His gift is being able completely sell it by keeping a straight face. There is not a hint that he knows in his facial expressions, but he absolutely knows that the things he says are funny. For example, why would he refer to the Great Wall Of China as the "all right wall of China"? There is no other reason than knowing it's a funny line. I think a lot of people are fooled simply because he's fooled Ricky Gervais into thinking he's simple.

This guy and Jordan Schlansky from Conan are the two dude where i simply CANNOT TELL if it is THEM or a persona or a blend of the two. My theory is that these guys are akin to masking neurodivergent people... Like they are smart enough to know you are weird and adapt it in your life. So they might exaggerate it a bit for these shows!

It's difficult to learn English unless you're actually familiar with it. You'd think you got the rules down until you take a step back and review the words you use regularly. Here's an example, try and and get these right: boot, soot, foot. Here's another: dough, rough, trough. Last example: twin, twang, two.

That’s not slang I’ve heard in a while , “done up like a kipper” . Meaning “fitted up”, framed , used or betrayed in some way. More often used a few decades ago. I’ve done immersive lessons in Spanish, but I’m only a B2. Lessons would’ve been a lot more interesting if we’d had Karl in class . I don’t ever remember using the words “calvo” or “testículo” in my first lessons!

Today is a song that means so much to me, and that album, Siamese Dream is utter perfection. Listen to Mayonnaise from them if you want all the feels, and my favourite song, Thirty-Three from their Melan Collie and the Infinite Sadness album (Melancholy is intentionally spelled that way btw) l. It is quite a forlorn song but it's beautiful and the music video is amazing.

Yes, Karl is not an actor - what you see is what you get. People who worked with him have confirmed he really was like that, and Darren Campbell, Olympic sprinter who was (and is) friends with Karl, said he is happy that Karl became famous for just being himself. No one has ever provided any evidence that Karl is different to what we saw over and over again. There's absolutely nothing to show that Karl is an actor playing a funny character. Ricky and Steve accentuate the comedy and make him feel as uncomfortable as possible. Karl following his own script is less funny in front of the camera, more comfortable, but he is still very funny and witty. Next watch is probably, "Meet Karl Pilkington, both parts one and two.- a visual introduction to Karl.
