You are absolutely correct about calling mechanically inclined friends for help. For years I always got calls atleast once a week to "help" with Brakes, shocks, wheel bearings etc. Etc. "Help" roughly translates to "you do it while I sit here drinking a beer and annoy the piss out of you."

I started telling people "I'll help but I'm not changing my shirt, I'll direct you through the dirty parts." (I wear nice shirts most of the time) the ones that needed help still got it, the ones that didn't didn't, and the ones that had common sense, learned to do it on their own.

Apparently the no breaks broke Ricky's nerves 🤣 I've only seen one other person shake like that and that was my brother but 10 years ago when I had a rear drum brake cylinder blow it's seals on my 88 Hyundai Elantra hatch back while stopping for a red light on a busy hwy with a line of cars I'm just very thankful that it was a stick because it allowed me to make the necessary reactions to the situation to avoid a severe car accident 😂

Nah I chock it up to driving skill as any body who grew up playing in southern red clay will tell you short wheel base or long if you ain't got a 4x4 you better know how to drive I've seen ppl get 4x4s stuck doing the exact same thing as The Boss and I've see rwd with granny low pull said stuck 4x4s out of their holes

I was talking to a gas station manager the other day. He told me about an incident last week at his store where a guy with a Dodge Charger had come inside to get a drink, he walks out and some teenage car theft is sitting in his drivers seat with the motor running but just sitting there. He stalled it out twice without ever moving it an inch, by the time the owner got to the drivers door, he proceeds to yank the kid out, beat the tar out of him and holds his dumb ass for the cops. He turned over all of the survailence footage to the cops to prosecute the kid, lol.

I’m 16 and I just bought my first truck a 99 s10 with a 5 speed and I love driving it makes driving more fun for me am trying to get some of my friends to learn in it before I change the clutch bc it’s slipping in 4th and 5th the truck has been a reliable little source of transportation nothing like a regular cab stick shift s10 with no ac lol

Im 22 now, but in high school I used to have a '94 toyota pickup that was a 5 speed and was rocking it on 33"s. I learned how to offroad using that truck, it took me everywhere I needed to go. Got lots of love for the yota pickups 😎🤘

Bought a new mower a less than 10hrs. ago. Already got the drive belt off and still putting the pieces of the puzzle together for taking the 6" of slack I still have in the belt, even with the idler pulley included in the routing. Belt not stretched. Bought a relay for my other lawnmower 2 weeks ago. Again today, no sound coming from said relay! Yeah, I think I'll just go work my 3rd shift job and start all over again in the morning..... Sometimes the comedy is all we have left in life!

My first truck was a 72 dodge d100 slant 6 3 on the tree. Almost died MULTIPLE times on the way home! None of my friends could, or even wanted to drive it. I still look for another one to this day. I donated mine to a church because I moved from WV to FL for work the last time the economy was shit. Hilarious video! You're a master of your craft

My son has an 87 Toyota, he did the straight axle conversion up front, put a twin stick transfer case with ultra low, runs 35’s on bead locks, had the 22r punched 0.040, stage 3 cam. He built everything himself, by himself before he was 17. He is now working on a 84 square body mud truck on 44’s.

That's a master cylinder there boss, but anyways nice rig! Get yourself a "Real trucks don't shift themselves" sticker for it. My truck of choice is a 99 F-250 7.3 with ZF 6 speed, put it in low gear and it will pull a house down.

Back in the early 80s my dad made me learn to drive with a clutch. So I wouldn't be limited as to what I could drive. The skill saved my ass many times. Now I miss a manual car. Why they stop making them? I can remember my grandma driving a 3 on the tree. It was impressive to watch her drive it.

When I was 22, I went out of my way to buy a 2013 Honda civic SI cuz I wanted to learn how to drive stick. No one could teach me so I thought myself and it only took me about 2 hours to figure it out.. I still have that car right now!

Wheen you opened the garage door it brought back memories of when my friends manual garage door bounced back and came back down on an old old old pickup, truck was fine as it still had an original steel body. Garage door was a different story though.

I had an 88 Toyota it was a beast I bought it all jacked up it had a 350 on it when I got it plus it came with the original 22R I took the 350 out put the 22 back in it it still did great in the mud.....love your truck

Just learning a stick in a 4 speed 4x4 78 ford f150 highboy, and lemme tell ya, it's quickly becoming more fun than my 77 lincoln mark v, simply due to the simplicity of of the parts in comparison, since that lincoln is almost all vacuum tubes and wires not to mention the dreaded hydroboost system, I think everyone should learn the stick, if not for practicality, for fun.

I thought I wanted a 80s toyota pickup and was thrilled when a friend of mine who has a 84 was willing to teach me how to drive a manual in it but after learning in it I can positively say I hate driving the cramped rattle boxes they are. I'm 5ft9" and I was miserable. This damn truck made me feel like I had to be in a fetal position to drive it, and felt like I was riding a bull inside a hardware store during a earthquake. Mad respect for their durability but definitely not for normal and tall people

I have had the water coming up over my windshield going through these muddy holes with my two wheel drive Ford Ranger but you're just crawling into this water puddle with your truck all that's so awesome. I learned how to shift a manual in a 62 Chevy standing on the trans tunnel in plastic cowboy boots with no seatbelt coon hunting the back roads of Arkansas. Papa say shift work the clutch and I'd do it. Also grew up knowing what joy it was riding in the bed of a truck.

I've been calling my stick shifts since I was learning to drive at 15... in 2010. I'm 29 this year. I've always called it a "Millennial Theft Protection Device." 2000 F150, then 92 S10, then back to the F150.
