FYI, Ricky isn't a tenor; he is a baritone which is more profound than a tenor but not deep like a base. The other singer was a tenor. An example of a bass would be Lance from NSYNC.

To date I haven't seen a better judge and contestant duet... usually it's not great because they are such different singers but those two aren't that different. Luke is definitely more of a belter but they did well.

Apart from the wonderful things Luke did do in this, what he didn't do is make a fool of his coach. That Ricky could even consider doing this duet with Luke says a lot about Luke's abilities and they were both mesmerising and fabulous. Two charismatic, sexy, fantastic performers who get along well. Im not quite sure why people are making this performance comparable to the original or that of the motion picture.. they are all arranged versions in their own right for purpose. This is a showcase arrangement.. simply a duet that has been arranged to display the artist's range and skill. It has not been arranged to attempt to be identical.. it's a show piece in this instance that's it. And in all fairness a highly quality performance.. So for the armchair critics amongst us that have probably never sung a scale in their life... id be interested in how you would all fair if you came into one of my auditions and sung that... The studio door would more than likely hit you on the ass in your way out...

It's definitely prettier sounding than the original because the voices sort of sound similar and pretty. However for maybe sentimental reasons I still prefer the original with the very contrasting vocals.
