Absolutely perfect, this truely could of been a local report on Nationwide, laughed the whole way through, some real talent on show here. As an ex Eastender, we would be taken to Romford for a treat shopping day out, it seemed wonderful. Then they covered over the fountain, enclosed the shopping center, f**ked up the outdoor market, and made visiting as unpleasant as possible. I used to live nearby for a while, so I did go to some clubs, and do late night fast food runs, but now I only pop back every now and again for a bit of nostalgia, and it seems worse each visit.

Great video. Brought back some good memories for me as lived in and around the Romford area between '97-'99. In 2017, I took time off work and finally went back to visit Romford to take a trip down 'memory lane' so to speak, also hoping to maybe run into a few local people I knew back in the day. Enjoyed having a wander around, etc, but unfortunately never ran into any old faces. Hope to visit again one day.

Read This, Im sorry but Romford is not the ''Capital of east London''. It doesn't deserve such an honour. It is the capital of cheap shit clothing, terrible shopping centres (three times the charm didn't work here), degenerate attracting nightclubs, and chavs though.

moved away from Romford 24 years ago, would never move back as it's now just another overflow from London and too crowded for me. Visit occasionally for family and a quick trip down memory lane, but that's all I go for. Shame as it was a really great town when I moved away for work.

Hey Ricky. Any chance you'll do a guide to Upminster at some point? I went into Swan Books the other day and was disappointed by their shocking dearth of literature on waterfowl. Don't get me started on the Crumpled Horn; despite the name, it is not the place to go when in search of damaged brass instruments.

Oy mate! Raphael definitely pronounced Ray-fell and it's not just an Essexism. The family had Dutch roots, the donor of the land for the park was a Banker, the bank still exists in the City. Phone them, they answer the phone "Ray-fell's Bank", the pronunciation was apparently the family preference according to "local historians". PS Carry on, great guides and don't be shy saying that everyone knows Romford is a dump.

You're telling me! Pretty unique in the sense that you see more drunks outside Moon's on a Wednesday afternoon than you'd ever see on a Saturday night.
@TheSniper97525 жыл бұрын
It is unique in that it has all the detriments of London (high crime, council claimants etc) with none of the amazing museums, restaurants, nightlife or even transport.
@TheSniper97523 жыл бұрын
@Deesar Thafaks, A museum for a Borough that nobody in London even knows, an abundance of ''restaurants'' also known as chicken shops and sub-standard cafes, and 24 hours of public transport going to all the other worthless areas surrounding it such as Dagenham and Ilford (Yes the N86 goes to Trafalgar, but who is using that on a regular basis other than drug dealers?). Romford is just a disgusting burr of Essex that somehow managed to fall within the Greater London boundary in the 70s for some inexplicable reason.
@TheSniper97523 жыл бұрын
@Deesar Thafaks, The only parts of East London I have a problem with is pretty much everything beyond the A406. I actually quite like the East end and the docklands. But that is because they actually feel like they are part of one of the largest cities in the world. Unlike the underdeveloped and desolate Romford. I understand you might be a deluded Romforder who is upset at all the abuse your town has been getting. But I tell you honestly that it is all warranted. I for one have lived in Romford for 6 years, and I too thought it was a halfway decent place. However, once I realised what a good areas had to offer and looked like, I resented Romford and swiftly moved out. If you live there, fine. Having a town centre is better than nothing. But don't try to fool yourself into believing that it is worth visiting if you are not a resident already.
