This was really cute! Thank you! One of the best episodes! I think Rick’s rendition of Lonesome Town, here, was the best I ever heard! Most beautiful! And I love Harriet’s wink at the end! ♥️🌹🌿

Great song. Interesting how his automatic echo chamber kicked in when he started singing. 😄😉

I really love this show. This isn't acting, I believe they lived their lives this way. We all can learn important values of the time, and apply it to our lives today. I would like to go back to those days where life was more innocent and happy/ Bill Miller East Liverpool. Ohio, April 24, 2012 at 5:37 p.m. and I love my wife Flo forever and a day!

No, they absolutely didn't. their family life was very different to their TV life. Ozzie was a very angry man who had weird twitches nothing like his character. Ricky hated the image of himself portrayed by the TV; he hated the fact he had to live up to such a good-boy persona despite being quite rebellious inside. David and Harriet also weren't the same as their characters.

WOW! Did they ever succeed in duping you. This TV show was nothing like their real lives. NOTHING!!

Didn't know there was a shortage of actors in the 1950's; the first officer to question Ozzie at Dave's car was the same actor who played the soda shop employee in the episode about Harriet's new hairdo.
@m.e.d.79975 жыл бұрын
Hardly a shortage. These actors worked under contract and were owed acting jobs so they used them where they needed them. This was common. You saw actors in multiple roles all the time back then.

That is Jack Wagner. He played several different characters throughout the series. That's why they call them character actors. There was no shortage of them. Many more were waiting in the wings for their opportunity.

Those character actors were better actors than the Nelson's. But not as handsome as Rick or able to sell millions of records

The cop was played by Barney Phillips, who played the Martian with the "third eye" in the middle of his forehead in the Twilight Zone episode "Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?" aired May 26, 1961.

The Ozzie and Harriet scripts were paper thin. Simple stories, simple dialog all done at a snail's pace. The theme was, simply, family. Harriet said that when the family arrived home after a day at the studio their evenings were like any family's. Dinner and then for the boys homework but something else, too, memorizing lines. The house shown on the show was the family's actual house. It was Ozzie's idea to come up with a radio show based on the family to free him and Harriet from traveling with his popular big band. Actors at the first played David and Ricky and then David and Ricky portrayed themselves. Ozzie was an exacting task master; everything had to be just so. As the boys got older that became a problem. Harriet was the calm, reasonable saving grace.

Perhaps you were watching another show?? The Ozzie and Harriet show is one of my all-time favorites and I consider it a classic on all levels. It was a one-of-a-kind show and its unique quality makes it appealing. Snail's pace? That isn't even remotely accurate! There is never any lull and the story lines progress accordingly. I think you are way off base with your assessment of the show.
@m.e.d.79975 жыл бұрын
I thought the set was a replica of their house. Ozzie also managed the boys money well. In a trust. As adults they became very well off to say the least..
