Rick Hi, I’m a long time beginner and been trying to memorize the fret board. Extremely difficult until I ran across your lessons. You are an amazing teacher. I’m know how to find the notes but now I’m beginning to really remember. Thank you and I also purchased your book so I don’t have to keep rewinding. Writing the notes down also helped me memorize notes and seeing the comparison of let’s say the E-6 and A string side by side made the light bulb come on that they are basically the same only starting up one fret on the B. Thanks Again!!

Great lesson Rick , Thank you. What I don't understand is where the minor chords fit on the fretboard- because where you have Dm in the Bb-example , that fret location is actually a C. So, I have some confusion about that part. I get the Major progression: I-IV-V fret position, but miss something with the minor part. Any time to answer this, I'm sure I'm not the only one here asking....Cheers, Don.

ah using their ears....what if they can't use their ears? You need to know this to understand music theory so you can apply it to your instrument. I can assure from teaching for over 30 years you need to know this stuff so they don't spend YEARS fumbling for notes and chords.
