Did not work for me. Had a 75 inch TCL 8 series. Lasted 16 months, then got black screen . Customer service told me no service or repair centers in USA. So, my $ 1,800.00 has gone down the drains. Customer service said the cost to repair it will be more than the price of a new TV. They recommended buying a new TV. I took their good advice and I bought a new Samsung. No more TCL, No more Chinese TV for me.

It just happens to me and with a flashlight you can see that the tv is open it’s just like if the luminosity was non-existent. I tried the technique in the video but nothing seems to work. Is there any other option ?

@@osmith5086 buy the LED kit for the TV it runs between 16 and 25 to 30.00 depending on where you get it and look up the video basically you have to take the front of the screen off and the back panel off of the TV disconnect the boards it's not really all that hard essentially what a modern TV is it's just a light board but you have to be careful with the screen and the diffusers

Hi ricardo..i hve Sinotec(skywrth) 42 android tv...it started with apps crashing..n it wld restart...watch for a while and it does it again..reseted the tv ..coz i thought its software or app issues.. Now if it goes on standby with black screen after crashing i hve to unplug it . Its a black screen that is a bit pixeleted....there is no software update..cld it be hardware issues?

TCL only has a shelf life of 5-7 years. None of this worked for our black screen issue.

@@princeskyladelrosario7548 change leds light its very easy the hard thing its to open the tv edges with out damage a gold stripes between the edge and screen thats what you got to watch when the plastic edge its loose remove with not damage the golden stripes. Doing that the screen its a screen just dont brake it and remove 4 corners gums and the 2 white paper one got a plastic push pins kind and the leds just got a conector and the stripes just slide to a side that you gona see the screw just to hold no need to get it loose just slide the stripe they arr flexible and put a new ones just check the model tv but 20 dlls 25 and above are to expensive the price its depend of the company samsung toshiba and pupular are the expensive but if you Got a SHAMJUNG, BIZIO OR TOZHIBBA OR KUNGPOW PORK TV THATS SRE CHEAPER

Is that what generates the picture? I just took mine apart without know what or how to do it but I found a bunch of red wax on some of the mother board and connector teeth for the lcd display tape wiring so I feel like that could be a cause

I would try replacing the LED's first. Make sure you get the suction cup handles to lift the screen, and a kit that has little wedges in it. My sons said the right tools really helped, and you'll use them again in the future, I'm sure.

You are a flipping genius!! Thank you. Only been using this TV for a month. Worked first time. I actually left it unplugged for 5 minutes and watched the clock to make sure I held the power button ( mine is under the front center edge of tv screen) down for a full minute. Plugged in the TV and pressed the ON button once and voila the picture is back. Whew!!!! Nice not to factory reset. All my settings etc. We're fine even remembered my wifi log in info. Thank you!!! TV did it again. Fixed again. Thank you 1/2024 update

TCL is the worst TV I have had. Screen started to appear red and green lines after couple months, then more and more lines appeared on screen every year, till the lines covered more than half of the screen, now finally its all black😂 I won't buy anything that has a screen on the product from TCL.

Nope. Not at all, after a couple days of draining, resetting, button pressing, it's still dead. The screen is as black as ever and only from the silhouette of the main screen (if a light is flashed to it) it doesn't work. It was 5 years old, and even though there is power....nothing is visible.

@@Priya-eh6hl nope. Since the TV was pretty much new since December, I had warranty. It took a a couple of weeks BUT the service person came yesterday and I have my TV back. It was the power board. He said this happens a lot with TCL. He said he done like 40 in 3 months.
